Dr. Shillito performed surgery on my wrist after I experienced a second, more severe break. While I initially hoped to avoid surgery, he clearly explained why it was necessary for the best possible outcome. He was always professional, attentive to my questions, and took the time to ensure I fully understood the process. Dr. Shillito is very warm and caring. I went to him because my left arm was swollen and he told me that's how it was. But guess what? He saw me for free! My insurance was no longer contracted with his office but he saw me anyway because he cares. The staff is great! Who would not want to come here? Just had my final appointment today after undergoing surgery on my ring finger in February of 2024. 5 stars and more for Dr. Shillito and everyone on his staff. Every visit beginning to end was smooth and efficient. My treatment plan was thoroughly explained to me and I honestly cannot believe the results! My finger was shattered and broken into 3+ pieces. Dr. Shillito took his time to put the finger back together using 4 screws. I can honestly say I never thought I would have full range of motion in my finger after this break but here I am writing this raving review. I Went to C Dr Mathew 4 a consultation for Carpul Tunnel Syndrome. EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNER SO FAR. I PLAN ON HAVING SURGERY IN BOTH HANDS(not @ tha same time) He practices @ the Sports Medicine and Othopedic Center near Alvarado Hospital in san Diego. I will give an update after the 1st Surgery 4/20/2020. 5/10/2021 Excellent Dr. I received outpatient surgery on my left hand for trigger finger. Dr SHILITO is an excellent hand surgeon. This procedure was done on 09/7/2021. No more trigger finger it's healing well. Again I say he's an excellent surgeon, excellent customer service and and beside manner. I'm grateful to have him. I accompanied my mom to her appointment today as she wanted to get a second opinion before finally deciding on scheduling her surgery with her primary doctor. To begin, the front desk staff as well as the nurses, were all very courteous, attentive, and professional. It has been exactly one month today since I took a nasty fall where I dislocated and fractured my radial head in my left elbow; in so many words. I feel pleased and grateful to have had Dr. Shillito as my surgeon. From the moment he introduced himself, I felt assured he would do his very best. Professional and comforting with his knowledge while explaining what he'd do. The morning of the surgery I was nervous but the team at Grossmont surgery center checked me in like rock stars, RNs Erica/Rachel were great! Today my left arm is feeling like it's healing well and my pain is minimal. I can't begin to give enough praise to Dr. Shillito and his entire staff! I had Dupuytrens Contracture on my right hand and all four fingers needed to be released. The surgery took 3 hours. After only a day and a half, I could feel all the tips of my fingers! There was no pain and minimal swelling. I had physical therapy 7 days after surgery and could achieve almost full mobility! All nerves and tendons are functional and with my therapy, I will recover fully! As a classical guitarist, this outcome was critical for me! Dr Shillito should have been a plastic surgeon! But lucky for me he took care of both of my hands with 100% successful carpal tunnel release surgery. He save my hands and gave me my life back. Dr. Shillito is the best! I wouldn’t want to be under anyone else’s care. I fractured the scaphoid bone in my wrist. Dr Shillito did my surgery and I have my post op visits with him and Rachel (also amazing, she’s awesome!). They’re both very kind and personable. Dr Shillito and his team were amazing from start to finish. I had a badly displaced fracture that was not resolved during an ER visit and needed to be surgically fixed. Dr Shillito was compassionate and explained the details clearly. The surgery was perfectly executed!!! Despite the severity of my fracture, he ensured that I had the both the best orthopedic correction but ALSO the best cosmetic consideration! My scar is a small as could be. I scar very easily and very badly, he did all he could to minimize the appearance. Post op care and recovery were important to him and he made sure I got in to therapy right away to get back full use of my hand and wrist! I like Dr Shillito, He took the time to explain what was wrong with my pinky finger. I broke it in a fall but was in denial..then I had trouble with my health insurance...so even though it took me several weeks to come see a Dr. He didn't judge me or make me feel bad for waiting so long. Showing me the x-rays and explaining what needed to be done. He was honest and up front about the options. I felt that i was well cared for by he and his staff. The office girls were so wonderful to get me scheduled for surgery the same week. He did the surgery and was very involved in my recovery.
