Dr. Shillito understands that physical pain, injury, and disability affects every aspect of his patient’s lives and strives to educate and empower his patients so they can make informed choices about their individual health and understand all the options available to treat their condition. Dr. Shillito offers a range of nonsurgical therapeutic options, including physical and occupational therapy, splinting and bracing, and injections.
Dr. Shillito has advanced training in upper extremity surgery of the hand, wrist, and elbow, including treatment of fractures; nerve and tendon injuries; degenerative and overuse conditions such as arthritis and tendinitis; removal of masses around the hand and arm including ganglion cysts; peripheral nerve compression conditions such as carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome; and Dupuytren’s contracture.
Dr. Shillito grew up in Central California and has been in Southern California for the past 20 years. He graduated with honors from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and went on to graduate with honors from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Southern California.
Dr. Shillito completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California San Diego, including a dedicated year of basic science research in orthopaedic surgery. Following his residency, Dr. Shillito completed a fellowship in orthopaedic hand and upper extremity surgery at Lahey Clinic in Boston, MA, where he learned to treat common and complex pathology of the upper extremity. He spent three and a half years at Kaiser in Riverside, where he gained additional significant experience treating a variety of patients and conditions.
Dr. Shillito is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
