Dr Maehrer made a house visit last Monday April 22. He was very quick and efficient. He did my neighbor's toes ( Lee Anne Miller) and then he did my nails. He checked both of our feet, top and bottom. He used a cloth to catch the nails and he threw it in the trash when he was finished. He was, as usual, kind and very friendly I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good foot doctor. Joan Miller

The first doctor to actually listen to what I have been through and what I thought was happening with my ankle. And actually understood what I was trying to tell him. He asked me questions then explain what he thought. No rush to surgery which is what I wanted. No rush to judgement, just a preliminary plan that works for me. I had given up hope prior to going to him, thought the pain was just going to be there the rest of my life, but he gave me some hope. Very thorough. The staff is amazing. They don't act like it is a bother being there. Helpful, friendly and just overall made a great atmosphere to be in.

Dr. Maehrer studied my toe, asked intelligent questions and patiently listened to my answers. He diagnosed it as an ingrown toenail, then he described his proposed treatment: injecting “novocaine”; removal of the growth, possible removal of the toenail because it was broken, and treatment of possible infection. Dr. Maehrer is kind and compassionate. While I have issues with my feet that I do not believe are going to be fixed any time soon (severe arthritis), he explains everything in great detail. He remembers details about you, which only bolster your confidence that he is listening. He is also not your typical "cut it all" type surgeon. Visited Dr. Maehrer for problem with Morton's Neuroma. After a lengthy discussion he suggested several non surgical approaches to control the discomfort and nightly wakeups caused by the neuroma. First time visit with Dr. Maehrer. I have an extensive medical history, and really needed a surgeon who understood that, as well as the frustration involved. Some things just are what they are, and he knew that I did not want my feet ripped up and put back together. Addressed my biggest concern RIGHT now, and I appreciated his conservative attitude! NOT a surgeon looking to cut everything he can. Nice bedside manner, and assuring attitude. Recommended to me by another OAA awesome surgeon, Dr. Falatyn. He provides a great nerve block and actually gives it time to take effect prior to starting the procedure. I met Dr. Maehrer for the first time yesterday. I was quite impressed with the efficiency of my visit. I was taken for x-rays within minutes of my arrival, then taken to an exam room where my vital signs and a more detailed history of my problem were taken by a med tech. The doctor arrived within minutes; he was very open, friendly, and knowledgeable. He performed a thorough examination of my foot and diagnosed my problem within minutes. He gave me a clear understanding of what was wrong and how to correct it. I left the facility less than half an hour after my arrival time and feeling very good about my experience there. I will be going back for a recheck exam in one month. This was my first visit to OAA and seeing Dr. Maeher. He was excellent. Took his time, examined my feet throughly, did a couple tests, went through my history and listened to everything I had to say. He discussed his diagnosis with me in detail, let me ask questions, answered everything, and went over a plan to treat my issue. He was very welcoming and I felt very relaxed with him.
