Dr. Kouser is an excellent doctor. After some initial problems getting use to each other, we are able to communicate very well. He is a kind, caring professional who takes time to listen to you. He has a set pattern of examination and recording his thoughts, but once he is finished with that, he will listen to any questions and answers them. I have been able to talk to him about most anything and he has given me a lot of advice in dealing with my rheumatoid arthritis. Yes, you will wait a while in the waiting room, don't go expecting to walk right in, but the wait is worth it. I would recommend him to anyone needing an excellent RA doctor.Patient Submitted Review

I saw Dr Kouser after a wait time of 2 months . He diagnosed me with poly myositis .I have been to several doctors prior to seeing him . I was highly impressed by his bed side manner and knowledge. i will highly recommend him

He's one guy I'd befriend if it were not for the patient/doctor relationship. While the mechanics of his medical practice is factory-like, his one-on-one time with me has been warm and has shown his real concern. I'm happy that he's the only rheumatologist in the area.Patient Submitted Review

Dr Kouser and his staff have always been friendly and very helpful. He and his nurse assistant has helped me get ahold on my RA and other problems and have answered all of my questions. And have a portal you can email dr kouser if you have a problem. He will email you back that same day with a solution. Yes they take a lot of blood but that is nessassary to get a proper diganosis. He is a very caring doctor, very friendly, and will try to help anyone. I like him as a person as well as a doctor. He very much will treat you with kindness respect and will do all tests to best determine what your problem is. He ordered labs and X-rays on first visit, he recognized things that were spot on and we got email promptly plus a phone call from the nurse giving us the results. He seemed very educated and highly intelligent in his field of expertise. He is recommending a sleep study but is letting us choose the dr we want to see closer to home. Great Dr. to have in your corner if you have serious sleep problems. It's hard to find a Doc. that actually listens to their patients before any diagnosis is made. Even better as a Disabled Veteran I recently discovered that the Doc is V.A. / Tri West approved for the outsourcing of Veterans. A huge plus for local Veterans. I personally have only had disagreements w/ 1 front office staff member. Janicka, especially Tina, and the woman who checks you in are excellent and so is His Nursing staff

Love My Dr.Kouser..He came to my rescue after suffering for a Little over 7 years, after running from Dr. to another It took Dr. Kouser to find out it was Lyme disease. I call him my angel..and always will..if he had not came to my rescue than I feel strongly I would not be here today! I Thank God for him..I really do..He is MY Angel..:-) If you need a good Rheumatologist Doctor Than I recommend Dr. Kouser to you. Dr. Aqueel is a wonderful doctor. He is not a drug doctor he has my respect. He's sincerely concerned about you're health and does everything possible to keep pain somewhat manageable while still being safe and keeping you as healthy as possible . Listen to his advice take all meds as prescribed . Keep you're appointments it's vital for you're health and overall Well being. I have ra, fibro, and a few other mild things. I live with chronic pain and limited to what I can do now . I first went to doctor with a very closed mind and very sad I had almost given up . I was suffering. He listened to me and has helped me. I'm not cured no but I have made lifestyle changes in diet , exercise and I take the common treatment for ra and it has helped. So keep an open mind don't give up . Dr . Will listen to you're concerns and do what is best for you even if you don't like what he says at least give his advice a chance he's there to help you. Thank you Dr. And staff for being compassionate which lacks in most offices these days. I have been to Dr Kousher since I was first diganosed with RA. He is wonderful. Always gets back with you if you leave a message on the phone or patient portal. I highly rev him. from the front of waiting until you meet Dr. Kousser and his staff, you know you're in a place where you'll be treated with kindness, respect, and be listened to. I've gone to Dr for four years now and I will travel from Gatlinburg for his assistance any day.. I do appreciate his thoroughness, and his assisting nurses who join him and taking care of the people in this area. It might take you a little while to get in, but then again, it might not. Don't hesitate to call or get your doctor to call for a reference. it's a place of peace and respect. I had so many things wrong with me when I first went, and now I am moving, walking, and the things I didn't, even know were wrong with me were discovered, but this doctor. Today was my first ever visit with the doctor and the practice itself, so my review is solely based off just this first experience.I'm one of those people who has a slight phobia when it comes to doctors, especially new doctors. So, I went in with my anxiety high like usual when having to face this fear lol but the lady at the front desk was super kind and nice. Everyone I dealt with, honestly, from the receptionist and nurse to the X-ray and lab techs were super kind and nice. I really really appreciated all of them.Dr. Kouser was amazing. He actually listened to me and took my thoughts into consideration, then he took time to explain his thought process on my issues and what he thought the best steps would be (and better yet, WHY). I felt seen and heard. It was refreshing not to be rushed; he actually sits and talks with you!I'm really glad I ended up at this practice. Dr. Kouser took over my care after I moved to TN. I had to drive an hour one way to get to him and it was an all day affair, as I had to go to the hospital for treatments after my appointment. But it was all worth it! He is a sweet, gentle man who spends enough time with his patients to make them feel they are his only one. A few extra minutes waiting to be called back means he is taking his time with someone else - just like he'll do for you. I even traveled from KY to see him one last time before I could establish a new dr. in my new town. He was always available to help me in any way. I highly recommend him and avoid Knoxville at all costs!
