Dr. Battista has performed bilateral arm surgery to correct nerve damage. Both surgeries have been exceptional, with very little pain. The office and staff are very courteous and explain the procedure and pre and post instructions very well. I felt prepared for both operations, and left recovery knowing what to expect. I would recommend Dr. Battista and his staff to anyone that not only needs surgery, but anyone suffering from neurological or orthopedic medical problems. I am retired military and have had numerous injuries and will continue all my care with OAA orthopedic and Dr. Battista.

Dr James Weiss did a wonderful job stabilizing my back with a fusion and 2 cages. When I needed a revision 20 years later, although retired from the OR,he helped me find a capable and willing surgeon who was in agreement with his method if addressing my severe spinal stenosis. My second surgery was also a success!

Dr. Battista and his team are the best! He was able to correct a failed surgery in my left wrist and operated on my right a few months later. I had significant joint damage in both wrists from rheumatoid arthritis and also a tendon rupture. I now have better function in both wrists. He also fixed a compressed nerve at the same time. Dr. Battista operated on both of my wrists. I was suffering with joint damage in both wrists from rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Battista was prompt, on time and considerate of me and his other patients that were in the waiting pre op beds next to me. he was polite and clearly explained to me everything he was going to do without being in a hurry to get to the "next bed." He asked me if I had any questions and actually consulted with the anesthesiology team with me as part of the discussion as to which procedure he was going to perform first. I felt empowered and a big part of the decisions that were being made about me. It was nice to be a part of the discussion. When the surgery was over, Dr Battista was the first person to greet me in the recovery room. I enjoyed Dr Battista's lack of empathy and how he kept things straight to the point. I don't need a sympathetic surgeon, I need someone who listens and figures out what the patient is trying to explain so the surgeon can fix you. Dr. Battista was referred to me by a friend of mine who had his carpal tunnel surgery performed by him. Let me tell you that this was one of the best tips I received in my life. I had been suffering with carpal tunnel numbness for three years before seeking out Dr. Battisa. After an initial visit and a follow up for testing I had surgery scheduled for March 09th... I was a little apprehensive about the amount of down time that I may have to endure after surgery but decided to move forward. Well I had surgery on my left hand about 7am.. sitting in the dinner having breakfast with my wife at 9:30 am... rested up for the rest of the day and I was back to work the next day!! From my first visit for my terribly broken finger, Dr. Battista instilled confidence that he would be able to repair the fracture and support my healing journey to full function. He did just that and more. Dr. Battista's surgical work is exceptional; he was able to align the break and secure the healing bones with three tiny, tiny screws, all percutaneously, without an incision. Following the operation, he was clear about the pathway I would need to take for regaining full function, and he guided me to a wonderful hand therapist who had me making a full fist within just a few weeks. Dr. Battista also informed me that some patients can make a fist within a month; he clearly knew this would inspire me to work hard during OT, and later let me know that this was a statement intended to motivate. It certainly did! Dr. Battista cared about my goals as a patient, was transparent and compassionate while delivering his surgical approach, and was extremely motivating and encouraging that a full return to form and function would be possible. Finally, his staff and colleagues at OAA were efficient, comforting, and knowledgable throughout the process. Had wrist surgery..won’t mention where but they didn’t fix the my injury.had a lot of pain. Went to Dr. Batista and I couldn’t have found a better surgeon any where. My arm was out of alignment. Dr. Batista fixed my arm and removed a plate that was put in my wrist by a previous sports medicine surgeon. Dr. Batista also removed a ganglion cyst a few years later from my finger. I hand a wrist fracture last year followed by carpal tunnel in the same hand. The fracture occurred while traveling, so the initial care was elsewhere. De Battista did my follow up care when I returned home. I liked him a lot, very knowledgeable and personable. I developed carpal tunnel, and he did surgery. Dr Battista absolutely delivered on his promise of quick and complete recovery. I'm 3 days post surgery and already want to plan other hand for carpel tunnel. Friendly, personable and thorough. Glad I took the time to research my options of where to go. Needs a Temple owls surgicap.Read more
