I fell a few yrs ago and was taken to a Ft. Wayne hospital. Admitted and was there for almost a week with Covid and a broken arm. Almost 2 weeks after I fell, I got to see Dr. Copeland. Dr. Copeland was the first doctor to identify my exact problem with over 14 years of neck pain. He explained what my options were, he explained the long term effects of them, he explained what might happen and what all of the side effects are. I've only had a handful of doctors in my 31 years of life explain something so in depth and accurately to me. I am so very thankful to Dr. Copeland as this gives me an entirely new perspective on what I'm suffering from and what I can do to relieve may pain long term. I looked up reviews on Dr. Copeland online, and found mostly good reviews (this was around 1/18/2020), but I also saw a few negative reviews. I decided to keep my appointment with Dr. Copeland in spite of these few negative reviews because there were overwhelmingly positive reviews for him. I've been struggling for 14 years to properly identify a problem with my neck and understand what the problem is and how to fix it. 14 years with at least 3 MRI's, 4 or more XRAYS, and a slew of other tests. Within 10 minutes, Dr. Copeland was able to look over just the most recent XRAY pictures and find that the conclusion provided by the radiologist who read the XRAY was completed wrong. The radiologist said there were no problems, yet there were multiple. Dr. Copeland explained, for the first time in my life, what exactly my problem was (Arthitis in neck, degenerative disc), and how we could treat it. He explained to me (31y/o) why surgery wasn't a great option, but further explained why I might consider surgery. He then went on to explain what ALL of my options were, what they may or may not do for my pain/discomfort, and answered all of my questions in detail about the various options. I have only spoke with a handful of doctors in the past 14 years with the level of understanding of a problem and intelligence/compassion for their patient to explain and actually sympathize with the problem, but provide guidance as well. I've seen at least 25+ doctors in this time for a variety of issues to help put that in perspective. Dr. Copeland is at the top amongst them. If you are considering Dr. Copeland I can only say that it will not hurt to have a discussion with him to see how well he approaches and explains the problem. Dr. Copeland is an amazing doctor. Very kind, very gentle and really cares about his patients. He performed Carpal Tunnel surgery on my left hand which was almost completely numb and now I have feeling again. It's amazing just two weeks after surgery and I can move my hand with very little pain and my hand feels normal. So happy with the result and the expertise of Dr. Copeland. Dr. Copeland is the best. He's got a great bed side manner, cares for his patients and works very hard to help your issue. He also listens to what you have to say, and then comes up with a plan. I can not say enough good things about him.
