Dr.Mike Trainer is one of the Best Orthopedic Surgeon. I researched him before I made an appointment. ( I’m a retired ICU nurse and I know a good surgeon when I see one) Very knowledgeable, takes time with you, kind and funny also. Doesn’t push surgery if he thinks it will not help much. I have a terrible spine with chronic back pain due to my profession of lifting patients x 40 years. He reviewed other options that would be less invasive and control my pain vs a huge surgery Fusing my back. If there was a spine transplant I would be a candidate! I highly recommend Dr.Mike Trainer in Las Vegas for any Orthopedic Surgery. He is definitely 5 Stars! Plus I only had to wait around 10 minutes to be called in to see him!

I've been a patient at AOSM for 5+ years, seeing Dr. Sep Brady & Dr. Ai-Quoc Heller. I saw Dr. Michael Trainor for the first time on 11/5 for cervical pain. It couldn't have been a better appointment! I waited less than 10mins. in the waiting room, and 5min. in an exam room before being warmly greeted by his PA Jen, who reviewed the reason for my visit, had already pulled up my cervical MRI, asked questions, and said we'd need X-rays, which I expected. Within a couple of minutes, an x-ray tech came in and we went to the back x-ray unit, which I never knew was there! I'd always been to the one up-front, lol. Unfortunately I didn't get his name, however he was very friendly and efficient. Once back in the exam room, it was only a few minutes before Dr. Mike came in, greeted me with a big smile & firm handshake, and I immediately felt at-ease. He went over my films and the status of my cervical spine, which aligned with the previous spine doctor I'd seen there since 2020. I knew he's extremely busy, but he treated me as though I was his only patient, no way rushed whatsoever. He listened, which is vital to me. I've had 9 orthopedic surgeries, so I know a thing or two about it and how my body works. I'm not a complainer. I felt he understood what I was saying, and that he trusted my judgement...if my pain gets to a level I can no longer handle myself, I know it's time to seek help. I'm glad he trusted me as much as I trusted him. We agreed upon a treatment plan that included immediate trigger point injections, restarting p/t, and beginning an anti-inflammatory med. Before he prescribed the med, he asked about pre-existing conditions like CKD, which I have. That's a sign of a thorough physician. Unfortunately, I didn't ask the name of his assistant who laid out the injection 'stuff', assisted him, and took care of the script & p/t referral. She had a great personality! I also give high marks to the front office crew who keep things moving efficiently. I've had many appts @AOSM over the last 5+ years, and have never had an extended wait before being called back. That's no easy task with how busy the practice is with many physicians. Dr. Mike had big shoes to fill taking over my care from the previous spine doctor I saw there for 4+ years, and he exceeded my expectations (not an easy task, lol)! Thanks Dr. Mike, Jen, your assistant, and the staff at AOSM with which I dealt. I will continue recommending Dr. Heller, and now you, to anyone in need of orthopedic care in Las Vegas. This was my first time seeing Dr. Michael Trainor, although I have other specialists in the practice. I was impressed by his PA Jen as my initial contact with him. She asked detailed questions on the reason for my visit, and had already looked up my cervical MRI. I had new X-rays taken by a nice young man (sorry I didn't get his name), and within a few minutes Dr. Mike came in and greeted me warmly with a big smile and firm handshake. I was immediately at ease. He had reviewed my films, and discussed my cervical issues (I've been dealing with them for quite some time and was treated by a previous AOSM spine dr.). After discussion, we agreed on a treatment plan including trigger point injections that day, restarting p/t, and trying an anti-inflammatory script. I couldn't have been more pleased with this first appt. with Dr. Mike, especially as he had big shoes to fill because I liked and trusted my previous spine dr here. I have no hesitation whatsoever in having Dr. Mike handle my spine issues in the future, and am glad to know I can trust his judgement and treatment recommendations. As always, the entire staff with which I dealt were friendly and professional. The woman who assisted him with the injections was great too, and I'm sorry I didn't get her name. I arrived at 9:32a for my 9:30a appt., and waited no longer than 10 minutes, if that. Truthfully, I've never had a lengthy wait at AOSM, and I've had many appts. here since 2020. It's a very busy practice, however it is well-managed. I've never encountered an unfriendly front-office person, x-ray tech, PA, or assistant during any of my appointments, which is a rarity in Las Vegas medical offices, particularly busy ones like this. They're very busy because they have great doctors, at least the 3 I've seen. It's not often easy to quickly like & trust a new specialist physician, however I completely do with Dr. Mike and Jen. I have had lower back problems for 37 years. Dr Michael Trainor took care of me after another very popular doctor said there was nothing wrong with me. In August I developed left leg pain that was unbearable and that other doctor told me there was nothing wrong with me but I could not walk. Dr Michael Trainor figured it out that it was coming from L4 and L5 and that's why it was radiating down the front of my leg. He not only took care of the pain for L4 and L5 but at the same time did a Fusion on L5 S1 and was able to relieve both my right leg pain for 37 years and the current left leg pain is healing nicely I did have to have two surgeries. Over all my experience was wonderful. Starting with the Front off staff. I arrived 40 min early to fill out paperwork. Back office came and took me right at my appointment time. Everyone was friendly, office was calm. I felt completely at ease. I met with Dr Trainor’s PA and assistant first. Yesterday, was the first day my boyfriend had his follow up visit after having an emergency back procedure done at our local hospital. Dr. Trainor did not perform the surgery, but we were referred to him from the insurance for the follow up and boy did we get lucky! I have received treatment from Dr. Michael Trainor for a number of old sports related injuries which had severely limited my mobility as I approached 80. These included spinal cord related issues which impaired by ability to walk.. However after numerous tests, X-Rays, and ultrasounds, Dr. Trainor with the assistance of various associates was able to either eliminate the condition or mitigate it to the point where it was no longer an impediment to my normal daily routine. Dr. Trainor treated me for spinal stenosis & other sports related injuries. He used Physical Therapy to alleviate the conditions, and in all cases was successful in his efforts. Dr. Michael Trainor has been nothing short of amazing in the way he has mitigated the effects of Spinal Stenosis on both myself and my wife using non-surgical approaches. The age-related Stenosis had been both painful and debilitating. However Dr. Trainor's approach to physical therapy delivered dramatic improvement within 2 weeks of my first visit. The therapy took place at the Sports + P/T Center which he helped develop. The level of care there features some Ph. d. level therapists. When I began, my left leg was so ravaged by stenosis I could not get up off the floor without assistance. However, after 4 visits with my therapist, Dr. Martin, I found myself able to stand up reasonably easy, and am now at a point where I am as physically strong as I ever was at 78. While there are still a few lingering effects of the Stenosis, I can now go about all of my daily tasks easily. Dr. Trainor deserves 5 stars in every sense of that rating.Patient Submitted Review

From my 1st visit, prepandemic, I knew that I had found the right surgeon. My wife, who was with me on all visits, agreed that he is the best. Very cordial, extremely informative and polite are just a few of the praises that I have for him. He deserves to be rated as THE BEST in Las Vegas. My surgery went really well and he was able to get me discharged the same day as my surgery. Today was my post op meeting. Less than three weeks after my laminectomy I am feeling way better than I ever thought I would. He said that it would take patients 6-12 weeks to fully recover after surgery. Before deciding to get a spinal fusion I did my research about Dr. Trainor. I needed the surgery because of a bad car wreck, but unfortunately as a Union Ironworker and former Paratrooper in the Army, spinal injuries and back issues go hand in hand. So, it didnt take long to find a couple coworkers that have had the same surgery I needed. They had nothing but great things about him. Even saying he's one of the best in the Southwest. I could easily tell he knew the types of injuries that come with my occupation. And extremely informative about literally everything. As far as the surgery itself. WOW! It's only been 6 weeks since my operation and my back feels beyond amazing. I can even tell a slight improvement in my posture and that's not even what my surgery was for. So grateful to have Dr. Trainor as my surgeon. I seriously look forward to getting back to work and being able to live a better quality life in the future with that much less back pain. They gave me a first appt within two hours of my call for 6pm (AFTER hours!) to treat my back pain. they wanted paperwork filled out before the appt so the receptionist offered to drive to my house, help me fill it out and bring it (and me) back for the appt. she offered before knowing where i live! At my appt, two kind staff met me in the parking lot offering help. Trainor was superb. Calm, careful, empathetic, warm, professional, competent, comprehensive. He spent from 6 - 7pm explaining everything in great details with great empathy. He provided a clear path forwards and Rx solutions for my pain.
