Doc Grotting is the best. Not only is he a great guy but he really knows what he’s doing. He put my ankle back together and is now nursing me through a really bad shoulder until I can have surgery. Leading up to it he explained exactly what my issues are and options to do both non surgical and surgical repairs. Only one will be permanent and a more definitive outcome so that’s what we’re doing. I’m incredibly grateful to Dr. Grotting and staff for taking care of me after a devastating knee injury that required ACL and LCL reconstruction. I had rotator cuff and bicep repair three weeks ago. I am doing fantastic and Dr Grotting takes the time to explain things and answer any questions. I'm 45 M and Dr Grotting did my ACL-R last year with a quad autograft. I only waited 12 days from my the time of my injury to the OR - I went in with my MRI and I was put on the OR schedule the same day as my appointment. With Dr Grotting I could start rehab right away and not waste any time. Today I was cleared for all sports and my operated leg feels better and stronger than my other leg (also with ACL-R from different surgeon). While the recovery is non-linear, and there are ups and downs, Dr Grotting was always there to get me over the hump. The end result got me back to all the sports I love with no compromises. I'd like to point out that while other doctors may say "you're too old, take up golf / get an allograft / be happy you can walk"... Dr Grotting was always focused on getting me back to highly demanding sports like wrestling, jiu jitsu, trail running and surfing. He never used my "old age" as an excuse to why I couldn't continue doing those sports. I'd rarely recommend any doctor, but Dr Grotting deserves a glowing review. So impressed with Dr. Grotting and the entire Synergy medical team. I had an incredibly horrible knee accident, as bad as it can get. I tore my ACL, MCL, LCL, Patellar Tendon, PCL, and Minuscus. This resulted in two major knee reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Grotting was the absolute perfect Dr to support what is probably the most complicated knee surgery that I am aware of. Two distinct surgeries, very complicated. Not only was the Dr informed, responsive, and incredible kind, but based on my recovery this far the work he completed is as good as it gets. We expect to have a full recovery. He has incredible background and experience, especially with athletes. After seeing another local doctor and not liking him, and seeing another doctor virtually in LA, I was glad to find Dr. Grotting. He was thorough in diagnosing me without jumping into surgery as the first option. He worked with me on alternate solutions and eased my concerns. I have not had surgery but have talked with Dr grotting many times and have had MRIs and physical therapy. He was on top of things--saw me immediately, ordered tests quickly and really cares. I had surgery by Dr. Grotting 3 years ago for a meniscus injury. Before the surgery, the doctor was very friendly and took the time to explain everything. After the surgery, I felt almost no unbearable pain, the wound was perfect without any bleeding, and I was able to walk freely a week later (of course, I had to cooperate with the postoperative rehabilitation exercises). I should have continued to have him follow up treatment, but I had to return to my hometown for personal reasons. I went back to my hometown for a follow-up MRI follow-up treatment. Dr. Grotting is an exceptional surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of surgery. Dr. Grotting repaired my broken patella and performed a subsequent surgery to remove the hardware once my patella had healed. Throughout the year and a half I have been under his care I have been thoroughly impressed with the depth of his knowledge, his skill at healing his patients, and the compassion he has demonstrated for his patients and their family. When I broke my knee at work I was unable to walk and was terrified that I would be unable to return to my normal way of life. I did not know how to decide which company and surgeon to choose. Luckily for me, I found my way to Synergy Orthopedic Specialists Medical Group. While I am not among the numerous professional and elite athletes that have been treated by Synergy Orthopedic Specialists Medical Group, I am an avid surfer, swimmer, yoga practitioner, hiker, and general fitness enthusiast whose mobility is critical to my daily life and work. The first day I met Dr. Grotting I was terrified about my circumstances but it was clear that he was confident that he could heal my injury. He clearly and thoroughly explained my injury and the surgery that would be necessary to repair it. He patiently and honestly answered the many questions my wife and I asked. Most importantly, he took the time to assuage my fears and provide me with the hope that I would regain my normal way of life. And as a fellow surfer, he assured me that I would be able to return to the activity I love. Furthermore, Dr. Grotting’s excellent staff at Synergy Orthopedic Specialists Medical Group helped with administrative aspects of surgery including helping me navigate the difficult process of getting it covered through Workers’ Compensation. On the day of my surgery, Dr. Grotting again took the time to make me feel at ease before the operation. After surgery I learned that he spent a significant amount of time talking to and answering the questions of my wife and mother. They were very impressed with Dr. Grotting which made me feel even more confident that I had made the right choice in surgeon. This was reinforced by his direction and recommendations for recovery post-surgery. And when I advocated for the removal of the hardware a year after my initial surgery he was supportive and took efforts to make it as minimally invasive a procedure as possible. If I were to ever need surgery in the future, I would do whatever I could to have Dr. Grotting be my surgeon.
