When I was referred to Dr Komenda he explained and even drew on a paper what the MRI was showing in detail. With a lot of patience he answered all my questions and gave me all possible options for moving forward without any pressure for surgery. Dr. KOMENDA provided excellent care for our son. He injured his knee during a high school football game and Dr KOMENDA saw him onsite. He was able to squeeze him in to see him the following morning (Saturday) at his clinic and even was able to get him an MRI that same day to confirm the torn ACL. Absolutely phenomenal. I had a major fall and completely detached both major tendons in my right shoulder. Covid forced me to wait from March until July 1st before I could have surgery. That gave ample time for the muscles to atrophy and retract. This made for a difficult surgery. Dr. Komenda used extra anchors and sutures to ensure a successful outcome. I was referred to Dr. Komenda by a family friend that had a similar shoulder condition. After reviewing the MRI of my shoulder Dr. Komenda was very detailed in how we should approach the surgery and explained exactly what he would do to correct the damage. He repaired two torn tendons, a rotator cuff and a bone on bone situation. I have regained 100 percent of my range of motion as he predicted and am currently regaining the muscle strength after 6 weeks in a sling. Followed his directions for physical therapy to the tee and am near full recovery and full use of my arm. I had a left total shoulder replacement with Dr Komenda a year ago this month. I am in the healthcare field so I asked around and the majority of my nurse friends recommended him. The outcome has been beyond my expectation. I couldn't lift my arm or sleep on my left shoulder. The biggest problem was I couldn't lift my saddle onto my horse! My recovery was virtually painless in comparison to what I had been experiencing. Everything went so well I went back 8 weeks ago to have my right shoulder replaced. Same incredible experience. Dr Komenda and his team at his office and during my overnight stay at the hospital were professional, skilled and organized. They run as a well oiled machine. I am now pain free and back to the barn riding my horse. I can now sleep on both my right and left sides. If you have shoulder pain you can understand how this is such a blessing. I am a 46 year old that needed a partial knee replacement and after this surgery, I am painfree! Dr Komenda has done a total replacement of both of my knees, 2 years apart. I highly recommend him for joint replacement surgery. There is no question, I have my active lifestyle back! After the last knee replacement, I was able to resume exercise class after only 6 weeks ... taking it easy at first. After several months of severe pain in my right shoulder, I was referred to Dr. Komenda with a tentative diagnosis of a torn rotator cuff. An appointment was rapidly made and, after testing, he confirmed the diagnosis and laid out the details of the recommended surgery and recovery plan. He was very clear in discussing what would be involved, including the challenges of the post-op recovery. We agreed, and he was able to schedule the surgery quickly. The surgery went well, and he did an excellent job in informing me of what was found and what he did. He followed up within a few days to check on my condition, with a series of progress follow-ups during my rehab. in every case, he was clear, responsive, and supportive. Appointments were easy to schedule and prescriptions were timely and efficiently managed. After five months, my shoulder function has returned to "85% - 90%", with further improvement likely. Dr. Komenda is a great surgeon and his entire staff are top notch. It's been one full year since he did a partial knee replacement for me. At age 58, I am now again enjoying a full active life style and I am completely free of pain. He is a great communicator and he took a lot of time with me to show me exactly what my surgery would entail, how it would be performed and how long it would be before I could resume normal activities.
