Dr. Lopez was great. needed a DMV exam. did not get a chance to be settled in waiting room and was called. A tech did the eye test and I met with Dr. Lopez after. Dr. Melissa Lopez, her optometric technician, registration and checkout staff were amazing, caring, and considerate. Dr. Lopez and her technician listened to my concerns and changes in health as to how a new diagnosis could affect my eye health. I was provided some conservative ways to help alleviate current symptoms. I was provided information and what to watch out for. I was told she was available at any time if things seem to get worse. I was given my new prescription, information, the doctors business card, was able to schedule my next exam. Additionally, as an observation, the care of other patients that were about the waiting room, and clinic areas; I could see and hear great compassionate care! I work in the healthcare field, and I was so delighted that their staff have on call interpreters that are available for the patients when their English skills were not very strong. I observed front desk registration staff getting up and going to the waiting area to assist a patien who was elderly and had limited walking & mobility. Additionally, another patient was confined to a wheelchair. Lovely what I witnessed. Everyone was being heard and understood from what I observed. Dr. Lopez is fantastic. My son (3) is pretty sensitive to new environments and closely interacting with people he doesn't know and our appointment from start to finish was incredibly smooth. (We saw Dr Lopez this year and last year at the Grand Avenue location.) She was great! I made a call on a Thursday evening about 5 pm. My eye was weird and I was concerned about a retina detachment. She was the Dr. on call and got back to me within 5 minutes or so. She relieved my anxiety and said to follow up the next day, low and behold my appt turned out to be with her. All is good another follow up in a month. Dr. Lopez is a warm, friendly and most welcoming. Our health care plans changed this year from HealthPartners and St. Paul Eye was available to us. My late father-in-law was seen by the good folks here. He always spoke highly of the care they provided so his recommendation and the convenience of the location (five minutes from our home) made this clinic our best choice. Dr. Lopez’s TLC confirmed we made the right choice!
