I saw my eye doctor Dr Vinokur who is the best ever! He took me immediately when I called with an issue. He took pictures and texted Dr Rosenblatt who agreed to see me immediately. The office staff was so kind and so helpful and I was very stressed but they helped me get through it. Dr Rosenblatt was smart kind and gentle while still being straightforward making sure I understood what was happening and what my options were for treatment. Dr. Brett Rosenblatt performed the surgery to repair a tear in my right eye retina in 2008. I have been under his expert care and count my stars ***** every year since when visiting the practice now in Riverhead. Although very busy. I never feel rushed. His genuine concerning chairside manner. I feel as if I am his only patient. His workmanship has stood the test of time! when I first developed cataracts a few years ago that ultimately required surgery. I reached out to Dr. Brett for his expertise and recommendation. I had a procedure done by a fellow surgeon where both Lens were replaced. I had worn glasses my entire adult life. Since then, I no longer require any prescription glasses and my vision I am a different person. people do not recognize me. I've said this from the date I had an emergency 10 years ago - I feel extremely lucky that I ended up with Dr. Rosenblatt as my surgeon. I didn't do any research. I didn't "choose." There was no time for anything like that. I had to have emergency surgery for a retinal detachment, partial macula detachment, with half the field of vision in my left eye gone - all occurring out of nowhere. Time was of the essence to save my sight. I went straight to an unknown doctor after another sent me HOME telling me I only had some fluid there nothing wrong. I knew better. It was this other doctor who advised me that I had an emergency situation and needed surgery right away. He made the call and got me set up. I could have been assigned to any random surgeon. To say I feel blessed every day to this day that I got Dr. Rosenblatt would be an understatement. If you need a surgeon and have the luxury of time unlike me, choose Dr. Rosenblatt.
