Tells it to you honestly but compassionately and always offers a solution, even if he believes that you would be better with physical therapy or a different treatment than he can provide. I’ve have problematic feet since early childhood and finally the pain became too much and was affecting my quality of life so I had Dr Chi preform a very complicated reconstructive procedure and it’s made such a difference. An excellent surgeon and communicator. I recently had a total knee replacement. I had canceled my first appointment for surgery when I got cold feet and he was more than gracious about it. 7 months later I rescheduled and had it done. I had some post surgery concerns and he called me at 12 am and again at 6 am to check on me. Hiking is my thing and 10 weeks post op Rattle Snake Ledge was an easy climb . I am very grateful for the care I had with Dr. Chi and his care team from the beginning to the end. Thoroughly explanation about diagnosis and treatment, set up with surgery date, meet and greet team at the surgical center, less anxious due to warm smiles and detailed descriptions about what I am going to have for anesthesia and pain meds by anesthesiologist, given me descriptions of procedure by Dr. Chi, all nurses starting from pre-op, peri-surgery, post- surgery were great. Do not rush me to get discharged. Given me clear and thorough discharge information. They made sure I was comfortable going home. Called and checked on me on post- op day #1 by Dr. Chi and nurse. I am doing very well after surgery . I don’t even have to take any pain medicine on post -op day 5. I just wanted to write and thank Dr. Chi for amazing advice and care of our son and his non-displaced Lisfranc mid foot injury. Another doctor of podiatry had us scheduled for surgery until we decided to get second opinions. Dr. Chi was one of 3 who advised against surgery (Harborview Sangeorzen, OPA Seibert ) but only Dr. Chi had actually had the injury himself. HIs bedside manners and kindness were the best of all 3 amazing doctors we saw. My son really liked him so much and he made him feel hopeful. After a rough start to an O'dea football season with pain from the foot, he got better week by week and they won state championship! I recently had completely severed my Achilles tendon which was a serious injury, it affected me both physically and emotionally because I have a family to care and provide for. My good friend recommended Dr. Chi as she had a total hip replacement and ankle surgery with Dr. Chi with great success.<br><br>When I called Dr. Chi's office, he had a full schedule but asked his staff to fit me in as soon as they could which was within 48 hours. This was a relief for me to hear. Dr. Chi has an amazing personality, bedside manner, and is a master surgeon. He took the time to fully explain to me my surgery and the techniques he will use and he had his staff book me in quickly. He was there before and after my surgery to support me, to answer any questions, and see how I was doing in recovery. His staff is also very professional and nice. The two times that I have been to Dr. Chi‘s office he has come into the room with a great attitude and a warm welcome. I love the way he explains what is going on in your specific situation. I know from my experiences with Dr. Chi I have never felt pressured into doing anything that I wasn’t absolutely sure I wanted to do. I know that if he recommends something it’s because it really does need to be done. But if there is a chance in which healing can take place with rest, ice, anti-inflammatories, PT and just plain time he is willing to allow you to make that decision with the clause that if it doesn’t get better or gets worse and you change your mind and want to pursue another direction he is all for that and there for you. I made Dr. Chi's acquaintance with a neglected achilles tendon rupture. I had the MRI's sent directly to his office, and he made space in the busy schedule for me to be seen directly. He did such an amazing job on my ankle, I can't say enough good things about him. I was up and running after 4months - after rupturing a tendon and other bad things. He is thorough, kind, meticulous and just downright awesome at what he does. Dr. Chi is an amazing orthopedic surgeon and I would refer anyone to him if you are wanting the best you can get! Dr. Chi saw me when I tore my Lisfranc and broke a couple bones in my foot from a sporting injury. He was great at explaining the injury and my options (which weren't many) and told me he believed he could fix my foot. I was rushed into surgery within 2 days and able to not delay my wedding which was a week later. Thank you Dr. Chi! Dr. Chi is an excellent surgeon (as far as this lay person can tell). He spends time to fully understand problems and considers my input. All of my encounters with Dr. Chi have been positive. He listened to my goals, and helped me come to a decision to have surgery in order to continue to live an active life style without the daily pain had been experiencing. I would highly recommend him as an orthopedic surgeon! Before long, I hope to be running again!
