It was my first time visiting this office. The moment I walked in I looked around the office is tidy clean fresh and has a nice scent. The staff genuinely looks at you and greet you with the beautiful smile Overall, doctors offices. This has been one of the most wonderful experiences. My visit with Dr Chan proved to be a very positive experience. A friendly staff that fit me into their busy schedule for a quick appointment, A brief time in the waiting room, but in the treatment room Dr Chan took his time with me, explaining the reason for my painful swollen knee and hip. I had been afraid that I would need surgery and he assured me that at this time there were still several other less evasive options available to me which he would give a try . This was started by his very capable PA by giving me some almost painless injections and I left Dr Chan‘s practice much relieved. To find a great orthopedic surgeon that is willing to try to help his patient feel better with a non surgical option first is very refreshing. I really “won” the surgeon lottery by being assigned Dr. Holman Chan after I sustained a Tibia Plateau Fracture in June ‘23. I went through the Fast Track clinic & was told Dr. Chan is the best ortho surgeon. That was an understatement! Dr. Chan is phenomenal in every way. Went from emergency to emergency room until I finally got referred to Dr Chan. So glad I found him. His medical training really showed when he was able to pin point the major cause of the inflammation on my sprained foot that wasn’t getting any better for weeks. I didn’t know what to do anymore. I literally was in a wheelchair from the swelling and bruising. Pain was at 10. Fortunately Dr Chan was able to prescribe me the Right medication and equipment to help cut recovery in half. A surgeon is not a person you want to see very often, but if I ever have to again, there is no one else I'd rather have touch my skeleton. I was involved in a car accident on my bicycle that resulted in a very severely broken elbow. He was able to fit me in for emergency surgery within 3 days, and the surgery had gone very smoothly, and there were no unexpected complications. He and his team were extremely thorough in explaining the operation, treatment, possible complications, all of it. I felt that him and his team were personally invested in my well-being as a medical patient, that they took into account my lifestyle and limitations. I ended up having two operations, one to repair the elbow with a titanium plate, and a second surgery to remove the titanium plate, and I could not be happier with the final outcome of my treatment and with Dr Chan as a doctor and everyone that he works with. All I can say is Doctor Chan looks out for his patients best interest and does not unnecessarily operate. I broke my arm just above my elbow last year. Due to poor health Dr. Chan would NOT operate due to the high risks involved. Of course I was in severe pain and upset. However, after wearing an excellent brace for many, many months WHAT? Saw Dr. Chan today and today's xray showed my bone was COMPLETELY HEALED!!! Dr. Chan said only Physical Therapy (PT) is now needed to regain all my functionality and reduce the pain. I'm not sure if Dr Chan understands he truly is very gifted in what he does!!! He completely changed my life, saved it infact!! I now live completely pain free after experiencing severe chronic foot pain that was affecting everything in my life!! Dr Chan performed a Right Below Knee Amputation after everything else was exhausted with no improvement. I see horror stories with others having procedures like this, and it was an easy, fairly pain free recovery for me. I will forever be greatful for a second chance at life, and on having the potential very soon to be running, jogging, and hiking with my dogs and friends!!! To be honest I don't have a lot of confidence in Nevada physicians, in general, so I research everything I can about them ahead of any prospective visit. Well, I was pleasantly surprised with the past recommendations and referrals that I found for Dr. Chan. He performed a total ankle replacement for me, which was getting so painful, that I had to stop doing my daily walks, and of course my tennis, months earlier. Well, the great news is that after 3 months post surgical, I"m now walking one mile, twice a day and preparing to start hitting some tennis balls again! AND, I have NO PAIN....I didn't really expect to be this pain free, but for now, fantastic! I broke and 75 -80 % amputated my two biggest toes. Took all day to get scheduled for surgery but after a long day at his clinic he did a late night surgery procedure and screwed my bones back together and reattached my toes with a total of 21 stiches. Dr. Holman Chan saved my life. After the previous surgeon amputated my right leg below the knee, and did a redo, taking off another inch or so because of infection (never taking a swab sample either time) my primary physician ordered a swab to be analyzed and the result MRSA! I was hospitalized and the surgeon was scheduling me for another redo when I fired him and asked Dr. Chan to help me. He was shocked at the devastation the MRSA caused and said he would do his best but may have to do an above knee amputation depending on what he found. Surgery the next morning and he came into the recovery room to tell me he was shocked because inside my leg was perfectly healthy. The MRSA had been topical and he cleaned it up and closed the incision. Next morning he was in my room again to tell me how shocked he was. He has taken such good care of me. This surgeon literally saved my life when my former surgeon neglected to diagnose MRSA on my amputated leg. I had undergone one redo with that surgeon who is ready to do a second. I tore my Achilles playing basketball on October 21th of 2018. Dr. Holman Chan did the surgery on October 25th and it went exceptionally well. Him and his year was very throughout and explained the whole process including the recovery. Dr Chan performed an miracle on the amputation of my leg. An original diagnosis by another surgeon had declared that I required above-the-knee surgery. That puts you in a wheelchair for life. I was lucky enough to meet Dr Chan in the ER of St Rose hospital the day I had to take the first ambulance ride of my life. I fell and broke my hip. I was scared, in pain and anxious.
