Dr Hung provided an excellent surgical experience for me. During the preop she explained the cause and resolutions that would be surgically taken care of. One week (Fri June 14th) from surgery Dr Hungs follow up was also excellent. I was concerned about the rash. She ordered prednisone and Cortisone She advised to contact her on Mon to let her know status. Sat I became concerned re incisions thinking there may be an infection and also had a rash. I went to the Winchester Hosp ER. Dr Hung spoke with the NP who was taking care of me. The diagnosis based on labs and exam: there is no sign of infection and the rash is caused by an allergic reaction. I was instructed to continue the prednisone and get Zyrtec. I have have been a patient at Dexterity Surgical with Dr. Hung for several years and have had surgery on both hands for thumb/wrist problems. I have to say the overall experience with the office staff and Dr. Hung was professional and caring. When I was given an appointment I knew I was not going to be stuck waiting for an extended time in the waiting room. From the office staff to Judy doing O.T. they do a terrific job. Dr. Hung is the most compassionate and professional doctor I have ever been to. When I went for the first evaluation she took the time to fully explain what was going on and what the available option were and offered her opinion on course of action. I never felt rush when seeing Dr. Hung and felt that my appointment was important. I finally choose the surgery first on my left wrist. The outcome was a amazing and I was back to full function with no more pain. The scarring is virtually undetectable which is the mark of a good surgeon. I have been a patient of Dr. Hung’s for many years. I have seen her for several hand/ finger injuries. She spends as much time as needed diagnosing and explaining the injury or condition, and methods of treatment. I have had one small hand surgery that was a complete success. Dr. Hung has done carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand (last year) and now my left hand (this year). She is very compassionate,knowledgeable, and makes you feel comfortable. I've seen some other carpal tunnel surgery scares from people I've met who went to other surgeons and when they see my incision they are blown away. It's hard to see unless you look for it, this is how a skilled surgeon operates. She's a perfectionist and I recommend her to all friends and family. Dr. Virginia Hung is very thorough and explains everything. She has a pleasant manner and is easy with whom to talk. The surgery on my finger went well, healed well and her follow-up was thorough too. Her credentials speak for themselves and she came very well-recommended. Her staff is also very pleasant and helpful. Appointments are made in a timely manner and there is never more than a 5-minute wait to see the doctor. And her occupational therapist Judy is the best! I had a 3 p.m. follow up appointment after receiving a large wound to my right thumb, that required 12 stitches, from a hole saw at work the previous day. Dr. Hungs office got me an appointment within 24 hours of my injury. I was out of the office within an hour. The staff and Dr. Hung were very accommodating and thorough with the evaluation of my injury. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience after sustaining such a bad injury. Dr Virginia Hung is amazing. Her personality is very sweet , sincere and she is very smart. She is professional, knowledgeable and put both me and my husband at ease. She has fixed different joints in my hands with surgery 3 times. I can't remember which joints they were because you can't see the scars.
