I had gotten a nagging ingrown toenail that lingered on for 3 months prior to my visitation to see Dr. Kaufman. I was no stranger to the operation as I have had it done before at a different podiatrist, in which I passed out for the first time in my life due to pain. I expressed my past experience and concern with the Doctor and his assistant (both were very professional and caring), and they ensured that I experienced no pain throughout the whole process. Thanks to Dr. Kaufman and bunion/hammertoe surgeries on both of my feet, I have the ability to walk comfortably again and have no pain. Dr Jay Kaufman is the best choice if you are looking for a 2nd opinion and/or a doctor with experience with previous foot surgeries. In my case, I have had 4 surgeries in 35 years resulting in osteoarthritis, nerve pain & swelling. Dr. Kaufman is an excellent foot and ankle surgeon. I had a full-thickness tear of anterior tibialis tendon. Dr. Kaufman grafted a donor tendon. Dr Kaufman is The Man! I had trouble getting a melanoma- like lesion diagnosed under my toe nail. Subungual Melanoma has a 5 year survival rate that drops off to about 15% if it progresses past a 1a, and none of the three dermatology practitioners Ud gone to about this lesion would biopsy it! Dr K opened up my nail and discovered that the lesion was really blood under the nail and benign. Three weeks plus of stress- I wish I’d seen him sooner!Patient Submitted Review

Where do I begin? Since a remarkable ankle fracture in 2019, and two previous procedures , and multiple visits with another hospital, and still having continual daily horrible pain. I sought treatment with Dr. Kaufman. OAA was recommended to me by my retired primary care physician, and also my physical therapist site. I can't begin to tell you how delighted I am!! Dr. Kaufman was truly caring, and extremely thorough. He took the time to listen, and not make me feel as though I was doing something wrong. I believe Dr Kaufman saved my foot. I have limited feeling in my legs as a result of back surgery in 1968. I am now also diabetic. When I developed some open wounds on my feet I was sent to a wound specialist at the hospital. After three weeks my foot seemed worse. Dr. Kaufman did surgery on my foot on November 22, 2019. It was a very difficult surgery. I am still recuperating from the surgery. My appointment was perfect and on time. Both Dr. Kaufman and assistant are pleasant and gave me excellent professional treatment, as always. My foot problem was X rayed and examined, options were discussed, well reasoned treatment performed, and home instruction sheet given. Follow up scheduled on the way out. Most importantly Dr. Kaufman knows what he is doing, is careful to proceed in the best possible manner, and is mindful of the patient's comfort and the desired outcome. He knows what he’s doing and direct and straight to the point! Which is all that matters…still, I wonder if this picture of him smiling was taken when he felt alive or if it was forced…hopefully I’ll see a genuine smile when I’m back.
