I have always been impressed with Dr Lin and his team but today they all went above and beyond for me. I was planning to leave the country on vacation tomorrow and had been experiencing some troublesome pain. Dr Lin and his team were able to arrange for me to have the necessary tests done immediately and I received a call from Dr Lin (the second one today!) to let me know all looked normal and I was cleared to proceed on my trip. Dr. Lin was the doctor who took charge in helping removing my kidney stone which was detected while I was travelling abroad. What I found most intriguing about him was his ability to make good decisions quickly and his not minding going out of his way to get things done right away. For example, on the day of the surgery he would himself go to the pharmacy to get the IV antibiotic rather than waiting for the nursing staff to do so. In addition, when there was still infection in my urine, he would himself contact the infection specialist so that we did not have to schedule the appointment ourselves. As it turned out, he was able to give us the right antibiotic right away without us having to see the infections specialist. He would do anything in his power to help his patients. He does not want to waste time in trivial matters and is more concerned with results, which we think is worth more than a thousand words. He is a man of actions and let actions speak for themselves. I met Dr. Lin for the first time right before I had major surgery. I had a very complicated case due to severe Hydronephrosis. This was my second ureteral re-implantation surgery, and I am also one of Jehovah's Witnesses and requested Non-Blood Management treatment. Dr. Lin was wonderful, and completely assured me he would respect my wishes which I greatly appreciated. He immediately arranged for a cell salvage machine to be brought into the operating room to use during my surgery to eliminate any unnecessary blood loss. He also preformed the surgery robotically to help reduce blood loss. I was the first case at this hospital to have this surgery performed robotically and without any blood transfusions. My surgery was a complete success! I healed quickly and left the hospital on the 4th day without any problems or complications. Dr. Lin is a careful and excellent surgeon; and he saved my life!
