Wonderful visit. Discussed all options for rt knee replacement. Detailed,thorough and answered all our questions without sugar coating. Took his time and didn't feel rushed. Cordial and informative. Had left knee replaced in 2020 by Dr. Horning and had no issues, recovery went very smoothly. Highly recommend.

Dr. Horning has been The Best in every way. He's forthcoming, patient, conservative, and talented. He has an open dialogue with parents and the child....and listens. With my daughter's ACL tear, Meniscus and Sprained MCL, he approached the injury and recovery with such diligence. He knew her goal was to get back on the soccer pitch as soon as she was physically able to do just that. Her plans to play in college have been realized, and we owe much of that to him. Also, her scar is so small compared to every other scar I've seen.... and I've seen a lot of scars in this sport! I saw Dr. Horning for pain in my right knee. He was very kind and took his time explaining the problem to me, as well as explaining the two treatment options. When I asked for his opinion on which was the best option, he gave me good advice that required a shot in my knee. I expected the shot to be painful, but one gentleman sprayed a cold substance on my knew and when Dr. Horning gave me the shot, I didn't feel it at all -- not even a pinch. He is an excellent doctor. My mom and I both like him. He is very compassionate and kind but the check in staff and very rude esp the one on the extreme right. She was very uncooperative and blunt. He takes the time to listen to my questions and concerns and answers them. I do not feel like I am being rushed along so he can move on to the next patient. Otherwards, I feel I am treated as a person and not just a number. I have had a rotator cuff surgery and both knees replaced by Dr. Horning. I will continue to return to him for future surgeries, if and when they may become necessary.

I tripped and broke my patella. The PA I saw in Orthopedic Urgent Care said I was going to need surgery to repair it. Dr. Horning said otherwise. He put me first in an immobilizer and then a T Brace. It has been healing very well, along with doing PT. God bless you, Dr. Horning for taking the conservative approach (aka no surgery)! I am so grateful. Dr. Horning is one of the best because of being helpful in every way and working so very hard to do and make my shoulder repairs possible. Very honest, professional, down to earth, takes the time to explain, show you what is wrong, the process, listening to and answering any questions/ concerns. My injury has been quite the challenge from 6/16/2022 until now but he has made it to be the best of a very severe injury to recover from. Dr. Horning is the best of surgeons. He listens carefully, asks questions to evaluate, does not rush to do surgery, and provides excellent information for care. After he is done suggesting a focus of care, he asks the patient if s/he is in agreement. Finally, he always suggests seeing him again if the issue at hand worsens or doesn't improve. I've only seen Dr Joel Horning twice. However both times he was very thorough and kind. I have some addiction issues that I'm embarrassed to share, but he treated me with the utmost respect free of judgement! He actually wanted to know how I felt about the treatment I'm receiving. And when I said that I'd like to continue with physical therapy for a while longer, he was perfectly fine with that decision. He doesn't try to run out the door as I'm asking questions. My daughter tore her ACL and has been seeing Dr. Horning for the past 10 months. The surgery was a success. Since the first consultation he's been very calm and thorough with his explanation. I am writing this on behalf of my mom, who was treated by Dr. Horning for a torn meniscus in her knee. My mom heard a pop in her knee when getting into her car, she immediately had a lot of pain and difficulty walking. We were able to get my mom in with Dr. Horning the day after her injury. He gave her a steroid injection in her knee and she got almost immediately relief and subsequently made a full recovery without surgery. I am now 3 weeks post op after A Labrum repair, my long-head bicep repair, and my bicep tendon repair. Before surgery I was having a lot of pain, and absolutely no elbow function due to my injuries. I have 2 open incisions, and 3 tiny incisions from the scopes. Overall my arm is feeling really good, Regained some elbow function (will improve with PT), still sore at times but good.
