I first met Dr. Byrd several years ago when my mother was referred to him. The great care he gave her, the ease at which he explained procedures, and the amount of time he spent with her, made it very easy for me to request him when it was my turn to see a urologist. Same level of care when it was my turn. Explained what he was looking for in his testing. Gave me some options, and more importantly his recommendation, for the plan of care, and then walked me through the procedure again and provided immediate results. Dr Byrd has been an impressive doctor since the very first appointment back in 2011, where I was facing prostate cancer and the unknown prognosis and outcome of the procedure that was to follow. His assuring council and advice created soothing atmosphere and positive outlook for the future. At that time he was the recommended surgeon to use the robotic procedure, that was new for that time, he was a positive proponent for this procedure and the shorten time for recovery. Dr. Byrd is an outstanding urologist. He been caring for me for four years now. I'm on active surveillance with a significant prostate cancer. This Doctor is AWESOME! He explains everything very well. I did not feel rushed in my visit. After I went home from surgery I had a problem that night....I had him paged...he called me back within 10 minutes and he called and checked on me the next day, not his nurse but he himself called! I have been a a patient for at least 10 years. Dr Byrd always has time to answer questions about my care and recommendations on treatment plans. Not pushy at all, takes time to discuss your concerns and what the next plan of action should be. Have had a great rapport with staff as well from front desk to nurses and practitioners.
