Every single thing about OAA and Dr. Hawk deserves more than 5 stars! Professionalism, compassion, extraordinary surgical skills, care team, and the overall process was outstanding. After suffering an unexpected and traumatic injury where I broke my humerus in 3 places and dislocated my shoulder, I was lucky enough to have an awareness of the stellar work OAA and their surgeons and entire team offer. Dr. Hawk and Patti Connelly worked to repair the damage and give me the best possible outcomes. I’m currently 7 weeks post op and everything is stable and I’m progressing well with the PT plan. Highly recommend OAA, Dr. Hawk and their entire medical staff!

My visits and surgery went great. Had no problems after my reverse shoulder replacement. Had busted other orthopedic doctor about surgery and his demeanor was awful. Recovered from a total hip replacement in three weeks. The surgery and recovery went smoothly. I was discharged same day. I was hesitant about having knee replacement surgery. It came to the point of quality of life. I had been very active with mountain biking and worked out 5times a week. Then my knees declined to bone on bone. Had a hard time walking up and down steps . For years I was going to another Orthopedic. I was hearing patients bad outcomes. So I started to ask around at the gym who was good. Dr. Hawks name came up by the Physical Therapists. I looked up his reviews and saw so many Positives. I took the leap and had my surgery this February. It was a painful recovery for the first 2 weeks. Then it got better! I did Physical Therapy and I pushed myself to gain strength. It worked.! By the time I saw Doctor Hawk he was so happy with my progress and said I no longer needed Physical Therapy. I did just 4 weeks! He is an Amazing Doctor! Week 1-2, I used a walker. Thank you Dr Hawk, For your fast response to seeing me and believing in me and the immense pain I was suffering from, which was not nerve pain or back pain because I had both of those studies done prior to seeing you. I’ve seen a surgeon in your practice that told me he doesn’t do surgery on someone unless it’s a 80percent tear which is ridiculous. I have no idea how you have someone in your practice like that! The amount of pain I was in and I have a high pain tolerance. Trust your patience some of us are very truthful and drug free. I have not taken one pain pill after surgery. Dr. Hawk is an amazing surgeon! I had a left shoulder manipulation under anesthesia with injection on November 3, 2020 and I’ve had an excellent postoperative course and recovery in physical therapy. Unfortunately I’ve had to have the same procedure on my right shoulder and of course, returned to Dr. Hawk because of the success I’ve had with the first procedure. I trust him and his team implicitly, his bedside manner and his professionalism are top notch and he listens to all your needs. First time I have seen Dr Hawk. I wasted my time with another doctor who was a 'supposed' shoulder specialist that told me he couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. In a single visit, Dr Hawk spent more time with me than the first doctor did at all three visits! Dr Hawk listened to me and was very understanding of the pain I was feeling. This is not a life-threatening injury for me, but he showed understanding that it was affecting my life and I was trying to figure out if and how I could get it fixed. Unlike many doctors who may simply be 'intelligent', Dr Hawk was able to convey the information to me he was able to determine regarding my shoulder. That may sound like 'he was able to dumb it down so a dope like me could understand'. And, that may very well be the case. But, I never got the impression that he was talking down to me or being condescending. He gave me an understanding of what was going on in my shoulder and also gave me several levels of actionable options I could take. I am grateful to Dr hawk for giving me the information I needed to both understand what is happening with my shoulder as well as giving me a toolkit of options I can use to manage it going in to the future. Dr. Hawk is an outstanding surgeon. I tore my meniscus in my right knee. I was in terrible pain. My family doctor recommended me to another dr. I am a middle- aged, overweight woman. Not a young athlete. This inital dr. I went to was horrible. I will not get into the details. Lets just say I felt disrespected. He said there was nothing he could do. He could not fix my meniscus. He suggested I stay in pain until I could not stand it anymore and then he would do a knee replacement. Probably under two years. I was terrified. I knew I needed a second opinion. I researched Dr. Hawk and he was highly praised by so many others. What a difference! First of all, I was treated with kindness and professionalism. He had my images on the computer and it was explained to me in detail what was going on. He was very honest about what he could do for me. I agreed to the meniscus surgery. He did a fantastic job. I initially came to OAA for, what I thought was a second opinion for back surgery. I met with Dr. Weiss, who was highly recommended. Well, to find out it was not my back, but my hip.
