Dr Awner is really the best choice. My son has been going to him for over 13 years. His interactions with patients and family's is top notch. His waiting list was months long when my son was a toddler but we waited and im so happy we did. My sons eyes are better than we ever dreamed they would be.

After 2 surgeries (from a different provider), Dr. Awner monitored her and ultimately performed her third surgery for crossed eyes. He took his time and her eyes are finally straight. We are very thankful for him. He was very available after surgery, gave me his cellphone number and said to text anytime if needed. I was referred to Dr. Awner as an adult for strabismus surgery, even though I’d been told before that adults shouldn’t bother with surgery. He was kind, explained my options and I was so happy to know that surgery was still an option for me! My son has been a patient of Dr.Awner since he was 18 and months old. Yesterday was his last visit with him because next year he will be 18 and has to move on. I was emotional because Dr.Awner has been so wonderful. He has a very calming demeanor and he takes the time to get to know his patients and listens to their concerns. Dr. Awner is the best pediatric doctors I have ever interacted with and I always recommend him to people. My daughter has seen him since she was only a few weeks old and he has always been so calm, gentle and kind to her. When I first met Dr. Awner it was a very busy day in the office but you would never know it by his calm demeanor. Even the day he did surgery on our infant daughter his gentle peacefulness gave us great confidence in him. We have continued to see him ever since a few times each year and he has alway give us top level care. We may have to wait but it’s always worth it because he is the best. I also keep in mind that he is seeing children of many ages and children have minds of their own so sometimes things take longer or he has to explain things to parents (we have been in this situation). We adore Dr. Awner who has previously performed bilateral optical repair on our son when he was just over 2 years old. We have continued seeing him for follow up care and are always so appreciative of his understanding and calm demeanor when working with our son who is nonverbal and Autistic. We previously travelled three hours to see him from the Finger Lakes region because he came so highly recommended and it was always worth the trip. We now have relocated back to Niagara Falls and love that he has multiple locations to make the commute to appointments more convenient. Simply put, Dr. Awner is THE BEST doctor I have ever visited. My 9-year old daughter got diagnosed with cataracts, a very rare condition in someone her age. It's only one day after the surgery, so we're still waiting to see how her recovery goes, but I have complete confidence in Dr. Awner. I've had doctors I've liked and trusted before, but I've never had one who so obviously cared deeply for his patients and who was glad to go the extra mile. Without asking he gave us his personal cell phone number and told us it was okay to call or text with any questions or concerns. He even proactively called us twice within the first 30 hours to see how she's doing. He is so easy to talk to, patient with everyone, explains things clearly, takes his time with each individual, and clearly cares about each person. Wow! Dr. Awner is truly a great man. He came highly recommended by our pediatrician for our 5-year-old daughter’s vision problems. He performed successful surgery on both of her eyes to correct cataracts. Dr. Awner is the best, very professional, great with kids and I wouldn't change him for anything he did surgery on my daughter's eyes when she was 4yrs excellent and now 9yrs I truly trust him and my daughter loves him. Any concerns that I might have he will call me right back not the front desk staff, and that it's really important for my family. The front desk staff is amazing too. My daughter has a medical history and Dr. Awner has just been above and beyond caring and kind. He will never rush you out of an appointment and spends the time you need and will answer any questions or concerns you may have. I feel very blessed to have my daughter seen by such a wonderful, knowledgable doctor and caring person. First off i wanna say he is a great Dr and great with children ,went above and beyond for my 3 year old son that I took to the emergency room stay after hours and even came in on a Sunday which was Mother's Day. My sons eye was red and the pediatrician could not figure out what was wrong. Dr Awner came highly recommended. The office got me an appointment the same day, Dr. Awner explained everything and took his time with my son. His bed side manor was fantastic.
