This was my first time visit with Dr.Starnes. Everyone in the office was courteous and helpful. Dr. Starnes was very pleasant. He reviewed my medical history, then asked me to describe my symptoms and how they impacted my activity of daily living. About a half a year ago he was the only orthopedic Dr. I have seen who realized my dilemma from an MRI which he wanted explained I had tendenopothy and certain PT exercises to fix my issues. Dr Starnes asked a few questions about my history of the problem. He then tested my strength and range of motion. He then sent me for X-rays. I recently injured my hand and hoped it was just jammed however after 2 days the pain was still extreme. My GP recommended NC Hand and Sports Medicine. I arrived at 1 pm and by 2:00 pm I had gone through new patient intake, an X-ray, an exam and diagnosis of a metatarsal fracture of my ring finger. Dr. Starnes assured me my fracture was treatable with a brace and before I knew it I was fitted with a very comfortable orthotic and was out the door! Everything about the clinic was streamlined, reassuring and professional. I work as a local bartender and rely on my hands to make a living. The receptionist was so polite and so helpful and so very nice I truly enjoyed that. Also the lady that does the x-rays the nicest. They were all absolutely the sweetest and most caring Dr. Office that I believe that ive ever experienced! The nurse and Dr. Starnes were so caring and answered all of my questions. They all were straight shooter's and honest. They didn't go around in circles like alot do just to get your money. I wasn't told that yes that would absolutely work knowing that it wouldn't . So I would waste gas and money to come back over and over again. They were very honest and I absolutely appreciate that and I would refer them to everyone. I'm 56 years old and haven't had a pleasant experience like this visit was. And it WASN'T because I got to hear the NEWS that I wanted to HEAR . I saw Dr. Starnes at the walk in clinic after a not so pleasant experience at another practice. I was hoping for injections and therapy for a shoulder injury, but Dr. Starnes felt I needed surgical consultation first. I am thankful that Dr. Starnes did not do the injections as I wanted, because it would have delayed my surgery. Very kind and compassionate provider.
