I visited Eterna for alternative treatment of a torn meniscus I’d been managing for 2–3 years after seeing six or seven major sports medicine clinics in Toronto. My physician was Dr. Bassi, and I’m extremely grateful to have been under his care. He is by far the best sports medicine doctor I’ve seen and recommended PRP (platelet-rich plasma), which has had great results. What set Eterna apart was Dr. Bassi’s hands-on approach — he was in the imaging room with the technician, taking the time to understand exactly what was happening. That level of attention contrasts sharply with other clinics that send patients to external imaging centres where the doctor isn’t present; those centres gave me only a 15-minute slot and a few standard images. I've worked with Eterna on 3 separate occasions and they've helped me tremendously! My most impressive treatment was with my shoulder. I had absolutely destroyed my rotator cuffs, they had severe tears and significant labrum fraying. These injuries resulted from a significant shoulder dislocation. I was extremely demoralized and thought my shoulder was never going to be the same for the rest of my life. I saw Dr. Smith today for an ankle injury I had in August 2023 and again in August 2024. I was still struggling with cramping and a feeling of a pinched nerve after seeing multiple doctor’s and having PRP too. Dr. Smith took the time to listen to all the symptoms and issues I’ve been having, and was extremely thorough in probing to find the issue, and was able to make a proper diagnosis and suggested hydrodissection. I had the procedure done today too, and as soon as I stood up, I noticed a significant difference. My foot and ankle hadn’t felt that was in several months. Thank you Dr. Smith for your expertise and dilligence. While there is a consultation fee to see him, it’s not actually costing you if you think about how much more it would cause in your time, driving around, physio, and stress on your mental health. Go to someone who cares, takes the time to properly assess and treat the issue, because in the end, it will actually cost you less. I had PRP injections with Dr. Bassi in both of my thumbs. I am an RDH and have tried everything else including 6 steroid injections and 2 release surgeries (with a Plastic Surgeon) with no relief. Dr. Bassi and KP, the ultrasound tech, worked great as a team. They explained everything well and I felt very confident in their care. I just had a PRP injection this morning and it went exceptionally well. I'm so happy that I decided to go this route. A knee replacement, unless you need it with no alternative is a drastic procedure. I had very little pain in this procedure and I'm driving again and back to work right away. If you have a knee replacement, you are out of commission for at least six to eight weeks with lots of rehab. I had Dr. David Smith at this clinic do the PRP injection and he was terrifc. I started to feel a random sharp pain in my right arm and shoulder about seven months ago. Naturally, I started physiotherapy about once a week and did some exercises at home as recommended. I have been a life long athlete who has recently suffered lower body injuries to my knee and plantar fascia for nearly a year. Being a physician, I believed that my connections to health care would streamline my recovery. This past year has been an education on what many patients struggle with daily in terms of misdiagnoses and frustrating wait times. I saw multiple practitioners, was misdiagnosed based on MRIs that did not pick up my pathologies, and had a multitude of ineffective treatments. Seeing Dr Smith was really a last ditch attempt but I was pessimistic given my journey. Dr Smith spent 30 minutes just talking to me and meticulously taking my history. I had PRP done on my left knee. After many days/weeks of painful swelling, discomfort and taking drugs that were only making me sick. I decided to look into this option. Got an MRI done and it showed that I had a small lateral meniscal tear. This condition was preventing me from my fitness routine and just plain walking. What a life changing experience for me by getting a stem cell treatment from Dr. Khan at age 62. He is such a genuine and caring Doctor, also a wonderful human being and very professional at what he does. I would highly recommend him to anyone.I had almost lost hope of any pain free life due to my chronic back pains in my L4 L5 area where the nerve root was getting pinched causing left leg numbness. I had 2 previous surgeries at L4/5 in 1987/2006. Hey guys, i injured my back in the gym at the end of 2022. Upon waking up every morning had an annoying upper back pain which lasted all year. I saw Dr Khan on Nov 15th for treatment and upon waking up the next morning the issue was resolved. I also had a great experience in Mexico earlier in the year for the Stem cell infusions. Before in the infusion, on many nights i was sleeping for 4-6 hours and constantly waking up, after the infusion i started getting 7-8 hours without any waking up. After a 14-year old torn ACL in my left knee and conventional keyhole surgery and intense 6-months of physiotherapy, i always had tweaks, pressure points and occasional pain, especially during weight training. In addition, suffering intense severe chronic pain in my right hip for 7+ years: an MRI in January showed severe advanced osteoarthritis. My hip was about to fail. I had a long martial arts sports history and car accident that was giving me concussion type symptoms (constant headaches, fogginess, neck pain) for over 6 years and no doctors could figure it out. I had 2 herniated discs and disc degeneration but Dr. Khan figured out that I also had craniocervical instability, which was causing the issue, and if you search online it says it is incurable. We treated it with prolotherapy which got me to about 70% and then stem cell which has brought me to about 90-95%. I am now able to strength train again and have no concussion symptoms at all.
