I love Catawba Pediatrics. Dr Barret was kind enough to work my daughter into his busy schedule with her regular doctor being out of the office. We ended up going from a telehealth visit to going in for tests. Waiting on one test result still and maybe a followup call, but Catawba Pediatrics has never failed me. They are an awesome crew.

Dr Kline was awesome! He answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. I had a negative experience at our last pediatric practice and this was the positive interaction I needed. I was so nervous for this appointment I was scared of being made to feeling like I’m not enough but that was not the case with Dr. Kline. My daughters are small they are low on the growth chart and i am also a small person, at our old pediatrician they made me feel like I was a failure and that my breast milk was Not good enough and my daughter was too small. Dr. Kline didn’t just look at the growth chart he looked at my daughter, he looked at me and my oldest daughter (who is small), and saw my baby is healthy and meeting all her mile stones. She wasn’t just a number on an outdated growth chart. He also is very supportive of breast feeding which is also a breath of fresh air. My last pediatrician tried to discourage me from Breast feeding and to add more formula ( there is nothing wrong with formula, and i would do if I had to, fortunately I have not had to rely on formula this time around). It’s great when you feel heard and seen by a provider, I actually left the office smiling vs when I left my last appointment with our old practice I was crying and felt like a total failure as a Breast feeding mama.Patient Submitted Review

I take my nephew there to see Dr Froedge, and he has always been patient and understanding, taking time to talk with the young patient, and not just the parent/guardian. Several times, Dr Henson has seen my nephew (for a concussion, and once when Dr Froedge was away). Both impress me as excellent doctors overall, and both have great “bedside manner” with their young patients. Update: Since the retirement of Dr Froedge in Dec 2019, my nephew has been seeing Dr Henson regularly. He is vague & not very talkative, like most teens, but Dr Henson is kindly persistent and can get answers out of him. We have been more than pleased with her patient manner and medical knowledge. My son has been going to this Practice for over 5 years now and I have nothing bad to say about anyone at this office. He primarily sees Dr. Joy Lowery and she is beyond wonderful. She has even personally called to check on my son after he was hospitalized and called the hospital ahead so that they were well prepared to take care of my child upon arrival. My son is a Medicaid patient and he has been treated very well by everyone. I have had to see a few other Doctors on the weekends for sick visits and they have all been equally helpful. I wish that people would cut them some slack as far as coming in/out of the patient's room for brief periods and allowing the nurses to do the other work because they are trying to see and help as many children as they can and my experiences with the nurses have been wonderful. Every Pediatric office is usually scheduled out a few weeks to a month for a well check not just them and they have always scheduled my child in within a day or two for everything else. The ladies at the front desk are always nice and if you think cut you short it is probably just because they help maintain a very busy Practice. My stepdaughter goes to a different Pediatric office and my visits haven't been nearly as pleasant. They always get my kids in to be seen when sick. The front desk girl, Karen, was friendly and efficient. The new doc, maybe his name is Dr. Cline, was thorough and took a flu swab and strep swab. When they were both negative, we left with a viral infection diagnosis with directives for Tylenol and Ibuprofen, lots of rest, and fluids. Less than two hours later, they called with a positive step culture and called in an antibiotic immediately. My daughters have been seen by Dr. Bridgeman at Catawba Pediatrics since birth. The oldest is 20 and is 'aging out' of the pediatric office which makes her sad because she likes Dr. Bridgeman and says everyone else there is "nice." Yes, sometimes I have to wait almost an hour, but you have to understand that depending on how busy the office may be and if the doctor is behind it affects the waiting time.
