UPDATE: 9 years later I re injured myself. Guess who I came back to? Just like before he did an amazing job restoring my way of life repairing my back with 2 herniated disc this time! I had a severely torn left rotator cuff and a severed bicep muscle at the time I went to see Dr. Meyers. I could not lift my left arm and it was numb, with little to no feeling or strength. Dr. Meyers performed a stem cell procedure on me in January 2025. 1 month after treatment, I had no pain, full range of motion, and 50% of my strength back. As of now, 4 months later, I have 95% of my strength back. I play golf 2 times a week. This is a miracle to me. I had significant shoulder pain in my non dominate arm. Spent about 2 months self diagnosing. I then came to the the Bone and Joint Clinic. I was diagnosed with a calcium deposit in left shoulder. 'Can't say enough positive about Dr. Meyers' perspective: non-invasive and personalized. Another doctor had considered hip replacement. Dr. Meyers studied my MRI and CAT Scan, did some hands-on testing, sat back considering options and decided to prescribe physical therapy. I was having fluid on my right knee that didn’t respond to a steroid shot and fluid that returned after draining. After an MRI, it was determined that I would be a good candidate for PRP. Two months later, my knee is much improved. There is no more fluid on my knee and I have very good range of motion. I have been to Dr Steven Meyer’s several times each time with great results. The most recent has been severe hip pain, lower back pain where I can hardly get out of bed in the morning. I had shoulder pain/arthritis from work-outs that got subsequently worse with radiation treatments I was receiving that required me to hold my arm in an awkward positions for long periods of time. Dr Meyers gave me a steroid shot and ordered physical therapy. 6 weeks later I have no pain (after being woken up by pain every night for weeks before treatment) and my range of motion is almost fully restored. A friend of mine referred me Dr. Meyers for a PRP treatment for my tennis elbow. Dr. Meyers fully explained my options. We started with physical therapy and I had a lot of relief but it wasn’t enough. The next step was a PRP treatment using my own platelets to repair my torn tendons. Today I can go back to playing tennis and life itself. I have no pain. As a nurse I can assure you the procedure was performed using sterile and safe techniques. I highly recommend this procedure. Definitely a doctor and procedure to look into! I had a torn meniscus from a running injury; it cause swollen knee and significant pain. Dr. Meyers was very thorough in showing me the MRI, answering all my questions, and listing my treatment options. I felt heard and not rushed. I decided on the stem cell injection -- one into the joint and another into the bone. Two different infections one month apart. All very manageable pain-wise. The joint injection requires 10-day no weight bearing, but the bone has a shorter recovery time. I started physical therapy 1 or 2 months after the last procedure. Very nice and convenient to have physical therapy in the same building. Everyone was wonderful and easy to work with from the receptionists, to the nurse, to Dr. Meyers, as well as all the physical therapy staff. I experienced a knee fracture in November. Dr Meyers, my favorite sports medicine doctor, got me in right away and took great care of me. After 6 weeks of being in an adjustable brace and a few exercises I am now brace free. The bone is healing nicely. I can’t speak highly enough of Dr Meyers. I wanted to say a huge“Thank You” to Dr. Brezina for such a successful back surgery. From day one he explained to me exactly what was going on & exactly what to expect through the whole process. He sat patiently and talked with me, answered every question, & gave me plain instructions on what to do in each phase, & still does on each follow up visit I continue to have. I went to see Dr Meyers for some ongoing wrist pain. It turned out to be a fractured scaphoid that didn’t show up on any xrays. He was able to identify the issue and treated it in a manner which was about as positive as a broken bone can be. I like the way he really listened to me and was very familiar with my chart and previous responses each time I saw him. It was apparent that answering all my questions is very important to him. Everyone at the front desk is friendly and helpful, always ready to greet me with a smile -- and quite often, a really corny joke. As far as the care itself, Debbie and Tyler have both been very engaging and have shown a legitimate interest in helping me recover: by challenging me during each PT session; by referring me to other providers for supplementary care and treatment; and by regularly checking on how I feel compared to the prior session. I had back surgery March 18, 2019. This would be my second back surgery, the first was back in 2005. The first surgery was a laminectomy fusion on L4, L5. & S1. done by a different doctor. After fighting back pain for 14 years. Dr. Brezina recommended fusing the L3. I am happy to say after 14 years I am pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Brezina if you have back problems. My first experience with Dr. Meyers was excellent, educational and beneficial. My knee, unknown to me, was swollen and extremely painful. Dr. Meyers withdrew a lot of fluid and gave me a cortisone shot. It was a miracle. I had absolutely NO pain. After several months I still have no pain, I am considering stem cell treatment to cushion the knee as I get older. I am very impressed with his knowledge. After years of progressively worsening back pain, my primary doctor encouraged me to see Dr. Brezina. He is conservative and suggested trying other options (therapy and injections) first but neither gave permanent relief and I had lumbar fusion surgery to correct a herniated disk and other issues 3 months ago. Despite 12 previous orthopedic operations (knee & shoulder; competitive sports can do that), I was very tentative about having this done. The results have been amazing ….. pain was gone immediately, I was walking 3+ miles/day in less than a month, and the majority of range of motion has now returned. I could not be more impressed with Dr. Brezina from all aspects and have already referred several people with similar issues to see him. I have had two major issues treated by THC Bone and Joint Clinic. In 2010 I had a comminuted calcaneal fracture that was treated non surgically by Dr. Meyers. with physical therapy and custom orthotics.
