The nurses and doctors at the wound clinic have been friendly and supportive as well as competent while providing the high level of regular care that I have received there over many years. Even when my regular Dr. Hasn’t been available in an emergency, the staff has found a way for me to be seen and treated. For a small hospital the wound clinic provides services on par with any other facility I have been a patient in. What a great group of people providing sometimes difficult patients with kind, supportive and technical care for very serious conditions that might otherwise be ignored. I arrived at Watsonville hospital Christmas eve with a case of pneumonia that ultimately ended up being valley fever. I was very very sick, trouble breathing, fever, sweating the whole deal. The staff at Watsonville hospital went above and beyond any expectations I could ever have had. Every single person was kind, helpful, caring, smart and good at their job. I was there for 7 days and always had my own clean room and bathroom. I could go on and on but ultimately the staff and Dr. Angel treated me with the utmost care and I couldn't ask for any better help than what I received there.I would recommend to friends and family if ever in need of a good local hospital.Patient Submitted Review

I spent 2 weeks as a patient at Watsonville Hospital. They saved my life. I went in emergency and was admitted. My doctor's were top notch. Intensive care took such good care of me. Once I was getting better and in a regular room it was OK. The only bad experience I had was the discharge person was very poor in her bedside manner. Very quiet hospital, barely saw any people except for the one department I went to. Seen 40 minutes after scheduled appointment time but once I was shown into the exam room, things went quickly and efficiently. My experience is based solely on the Labor and Delivery Department of the hospital. This was my first labor and delivery experience with my first child.The day I started having contractions, their phonelines were down due to an AT&T issue, I was freaked out of course so I went in as directed by my Kaiser nurse to go and check in just in case since I couldn't speak to anyone.Once I was checked in and was taken to the second floor of the Maternity Unit I was put at ease. Darla was our triage nurse and was so sweet and funny and I already was feeling more comfortable as she checked my vitals. I even felt happy and excited because of how she made me feel.Once I moved into a room of my own , we met with Dona ( whom we ended up seeing the following day as well because I didn't give birth until the following day. She along with Lacy (traveling nurse) and the woman who administered the epidural Trisha I believe...I am writing this two months post partum so I hope I didn't forget their names . I am so grateful for the Watsonville Community Hospital Maternity Ward. I would not hesitate to go there again if I were to have a second child. Thank you all for taking care of me!I also appreciate they let my family witness the birth and be there to support me .If you are reading this and deciding where to have your child. Impressed with Watsonville Hospital’s improvement of services: able to make appointments with one call, rather then manny, when called to confirm appointment my call was received, prompt reasonable service when arrived and really enjoyed the food at the hospital cafeteria! I went into for my annual mammogram recently and first, they hired an additional x-ray technician so they could see people on weekends to catch up on their backlog since I was able to get an appointment right away. I’ve always had great service when going to the Watsonville hospital. From the moment I walk in, when I receive my Registration packet all completed and ready for my signature, through the pre-op prep with the amazing nurses, into the room where I am introduced to everyone who will be present during my procedure. After the procedure, I wake up with a nurse at the bed with the box of juice, ready to prepare me to go home. I arrived and was taken to incoming patient area. I completed the incoming paperwork and was sent to radiology, where I spent 15 minutes awaiting my turn. I was called back into radiation and laid on a bed for 30 minutes while a machine buzzed around. The radiologist said the scan was done and the results will be forwarded to my primary care physician. Great experience. I had an x-Ray. From the front desk to the x-ray tech, everyone was wonderful. Friendly, responsive and helpful. There was a glitch with my doctor getting the order to the hospital and the front desk woman was on it. The papaertowke dispenser in the bathroom near x-ray was malfunctioning. The reception in x-ray thanked me and reported it immediately. These are just little things, but they made a difference. I wish I knew their names. Oh gosh, I had a very nice experience in their cardiac unit for a routine test. Nurse Pilar was awesome! She clearly loves her job. From Pilar to the Radiology doctor to Dr. Wong, they were very efficient, kind and funny. The environment was very clean. I am sorry the previous posters got a bad experience. Don’t believe what bougie rich people say about this hospital. Amazing staff, best nurses ever, awesome doctors, and lactation master Katherine is the best and was so comforting and helpful to my wife and I. The lactation and birthing classes she runs are great. Everyone we interacted with took amazing care of us at WCH. To me, the staff is what matters. Sure, it’s not a super brand new hospital but, it has everything you need and the staff care deeply for their patents, at least from our experience in the labor and delivery department. We live in SC and have Kaiser so we couldn’t go to Dominican or sutter, it was between Kaiser in San Jose or WCH. I recommend giving birth here if you’re with Kaiser and live in SC, skip 17.Patient Submitted Review

I became very sick on Monday, June 6th, and I was actually told by the Ambulance Drivers, "What do you want the hospital to do for you?" I wanted to make sure I wasn't having some sort of Brain Aneurysm or Stroke. I could tell my Blood Pressure was Skyrocketing and I truly though my head was about to explode.Over the course of the next 12 hours, the Nurses and Doctors treated me with Kindness and Respect and really listened to me as I described my condition. I watched other patients come in and out of the Emergency Room and many of the patients were known and remembered, which I think speaks volumes for Community Service.After 12 hours or so, these Doctors and Nurses got me back on my feet, found a different health issue that my PCP did not find that needs surgery, and got me home...........I don't care what the "LOOK" like and neither should the rest of you, if they actually Practice Medicine and really care for their patients.PS Go to Watsonville Hospital if you want real care........Thank you Dr. Makle, Dr. Khary, and all the Nurses who helped me.Sincerely Liza VegliaPatient Submitted Review

The tech wan not only very informative but very friendly and put me at ease at every step of the way. The entire labor and delivery staff was amazing. I came in during the very early morning hours as an emergency (I had a known high risk complication) and had an emergency c section. Dr. Cox performed my Caesarian and she was fantastic. So kind, gentle, comforting, and knowledgeable. I was so relieved by her and the nurses because it was a very scary situation for myself and my son. The anesthesiologist (Dr. Kong I believe) was wonderful as well. My son was transferred to another hospital to be in the NICU while I recovered at Watsonville Community Hospital. The nurses who cared for me during my 3 day stay were so kind and helpful. Insanely surprised at how wonderful this ER experience has been. The environment was intimate, peaceful, and comforting— no loud overcrowded huge waiting room. The process went by so quickly and you could feel the love the staff had for their job, coworkers, and helping people (which can be hard to show when your job is so stressful). The staff also worked so hard to honor they/them pronouns, with no prompt. Came in specifically to let us know they were all trying their best but are still learning and apologize if they slip up. Hopefully we don’t have anymore emergencies, but if we do it’s nice to know we have such a great place to turn.Patient Submitted Review

My wife and I had a great experience here. We were in Carmel on Sunday, June 18, 2017, on fathers day when my wife's water broke. Our son wasn't due for 4 more weeks and he was feet first. We knew that she'd need an emergency C-section. We called our Dr and they sent us to Watsonville hospital. We got there around 3 in the afternoon and our first baby boy was born by emergency c-section just after 6. The entire labor and delivery staff was fantastic. One nurse even stayed 2 hours past her shift to stay with us through delivery. We were scared and nervous when we arrived but they did their best to make us comfortable and put us at ease. During our stay the nurses went above and beyond our expectations to take care of us. It made our scary situation easier to deal with. I was on vacation in Aptos when I hurt myself and required ER help. Everyone from the sign in nurse to the doctor were great! They were all very kind and understanding. They explained the entire process throughout the time I was there. Not a great way to start my vacation but I could have been a lot worse without good medical care!Read more

Very friendly and helpful staff guided me through the process of having an EKG and blood drawn for pre-surgery purposes. There was no wait, both tests were done in under 30 minutes.
