Dr. Colegrove was able to examine and quickly diagnose and treat the cause of the sudden spontaneous bleeding from my right ear that arose mysteriously overnight. It was a great relief to me to be reassured by her That the source of the bleeding was a simple scratch with the bleeding exacerbated by my post- CABG surgery blood thinner prescriptions. Dr Hwang Listened and immediately got to work with a camera down my son's nose to check out his issue. It was so nice to have something done vs "go on this med for 3 months and come back" (which is what another dr had said) the camera provided feedback we could have never gotten from an exam. I was very pleased with my visit to Reston ENT and the service that Dr. Kennedy provided. He listened to my complaint and determined that I had an ear infection. He had the best equipment for extracting wax and discharge from my ear canal. No pain and no mess. I had sinus surgery with Dr Hwang to fix my sinuses, because I got sinus headaches and also wanted to be able equalize better/more easily when I go scuba diving. (For anyone who hasn’t gone but has the ability to go diving, I highly recommend it!). Anyway I had a turbinate reduction, balloon sinuplasty for my Eustachian tubes, straightened my deviated septum, and enlarged one of my right sinuses that was partially blocked and kept clogging. So it was a pretty involved 4-part surgery. I had the surgery a few days ago, and I already feel a huge improvement in my sinuses. My head already feels clearer and I haven’t had any sinus headaches like I used to get all the time. Best of all I’m in practically no pain! I know Dr Hwang is a really skilled ENT/surgeon because I had a similar surgery done when I was about 17 (unfortunately, senior year of HS sports/wrestling/ football messed that up so I needed it done again now at age 30). But back when I had it done at age 17, I was in way more pain than I was now post-surgery, and yet I only saw decent results. I think a mix of me doing a lot of research, plus listening to Dr Hwang, along with his good surgical skills, helped me have a really good outcome. I really recommend you use Dr Hwang for any sinus surgery or sinus needs, and I also recommend doing your research beforehand (with any doctor) so that you’re informed going into it… but also listen to the doctor… and personally I recommend having as much helpful stuff done as possible. I easily could’ve just had my septum fixed but I wanted all 4 procedures done. My ears, sinuses, etc all feel great and seem to be draining really well now, and no headaches at all. Totally worth every penny, so I recommend- if allowed/possible- getting all sinus problems fixed in one go The only thing I need to make sure of at the follow-up, is that my septum hasn’t re-deviated since the surgery somehow, which I don’t feel like it has but that’s always a theoretical risk.
