Dr Sailer is efficient, informative and not condescending. He won’t push you into getting surgeries you don’t absolutely need. That being said I’ve had both my knees undergo MPFL reconstructive surgery (2015 & 2021) and they’re both holding up better than expected. For years prior to the surgeries I tried PT but nothing was permanent before another knee cap dislocation would happen. Thanks to this surgeon and his team, I was able to complete multiple trail running marathons and ultra runs this past year. 11/10 would visit again but I hope not to.

Dr Sailer repaired my shoulder back in June after dealing with a rotator cuff tear for several months. He was very thorough describing my MRI findings pre-surgery, the details of surgery, and post op restrictions. I love his approach, he is very informative, yet concise, and has a great bedside manner. I have a very physical job, and was concerned on how I would function after surgery. I can say that I have almost full range of motion back, and I'm currently building my strength back up. I am 15 weeks post surgery! My recovery was very smooth despite hearing horrific stories from other folks who've had the same surgery. I attribute my recovery to being very diligent to the post op restrictions, icing a TON, and being strict with the physical therapy. But probably most important factor was choosing a surgeon that has perfected his skills in shoulder surgery! He came highly recommended to me by a medical colleague at Overlake who said- he IS the shoulder guy. Do not let anyone else operate on your shoulder other than Dr Sailer. I'm so appreciative, and I would recommend him to anyone needing any kind of shoulder surgery. Thank you Dr Sailer!!!!!

Dr. Sailer, during this 6-week visit, was both thorough an encouraging in his evaluation of my progress with both my right and left shoulders. His range of motion testing of both arms confirmed that my progress was on schedule with no hitches. I came to Dr Sailer with persistent shoulder shoulder pain which he diagnosed as a torn RC. Dr Sailer diagnosed what was causing my pain by means of having me perform certain arm movements and physical inspection of my shoulders, and then verified his diagnosis by reviewing my MRI. He answered all of the questions I brought and added so much in his explanations. I know what my recovery time will be and the stages-like 4 wks. in sling, 4wks out of the sling, and after the 8th week I would start PT. He is a very thorough Dr but has such a wonderful flair and lightens the mood and helped eliminate the fear I had. He was the 4th shoulder Dr. I went to and I wish he had been the first. Dr. Sailor did a total shoulder replacement, along with reduction on my collarbone in 2014. He also gave me several cortisone shots on my shoulder and knee as well, before the surgery for about 1.5 yes, so I got to know him a little. He is kind, caring, listens and is a very good surgeon. Awesome doctor. Tore my ACL skiing, Dr. Sailer explained all my options, pros and cons of each approach. I went for reconstruction. Surgery and recovery was a breeze. He even called me the day after surgery and reminded to try walking and start physical therapy ASAP. I was able to run 10k by the end of the year, and back on to skiing the following season. Highly recommend him.

Dr Sailer is one of the top Orthopedic Surgeons. He has performed many surgeries in our family and friends. he has also not done unnecesasary surgeries in many cases. I have 4 kids that are atheletes so we seem to visit him frequently. At 57 years of age my left knee was worn out. I had fell rock climbing many years ago. At that point a large piece of cartilage was removed. I was told that somewhere down the road that I would develop arthritis in the knee. When the pain took a lot of what I had enjoyed in life away I looked to Dr Sailer for help. Having your knee replaced is a big choice to make. And finding the right surgeon is important. I'm five weeks out of surgery and walking well and improving more each day.
