The minute I walked into the St. Paul Eye Clinic I was greeted with the kindest, most professional staff members. My appointment was at exactly the time it was supposed to be, and my Technician, Chris, was awesome! And I can't say enough about Dr. Stanek. He was so smart, kind, thoughtful, understanding and thorough in explaining exactly the eye care that I needed and next steps to be taken. We ❤️ Dr Stanek. We went to the local Optomologist previous to going to Dr Stanek due to inability to get an appt with Dr Stanek. That Optomologist was a disaster!! She didn't even finish the exam. Senr us to the ER. My husband had over $10,000 of tests. We left not knowing anything. Then we tried to get an appt with Dr Stanek. We lucked out and got an appt someone else canceled. Seven years ago, Dr. Stanek did cataract surgery on my left eye and I nserted a new special lens. Now Dr. Stanek did my right eye and also inserted a new special lens. He cleaned up my lens, from 7 years ago with a laser. I am 72 years old and the vision in both my eyes is very clear and very sharp! Just like I am 21 again!!!! Dr. Stanek did my left eye cataract surgery in 2014, at that time I was 64 years old. During surgery, the cataract was taken care of and in addition a bifold lens was placed in my eye. Surgery went extremely well and was fast and painless! When I was first wheeled into the surgery room, I thought the staff and Dr. Stanek was doing prep work with coverings around my left eye, but what I didn’t realize was that the surgery was already in process. In a very short time I was in the recovery room which also wasn’t a very long length of time. After about a week of eye drops, my vision was clear, like a 21 year old’s again. I am now 71 years old and my left eye is still doing great, but my right eye now needs the same exact procedure. At my age now I am a lot more nervous about any kind of surgery, but I do know, I am in very good hands with Dr. Stanek!! I have complete trust in Dr. Stanek’s skills and knowledge. My left eye had cataract surgery done by Dr. Stanek in 2014. Dr. Stanek took care of the cataract and also added a bifocal lens to the eye. The survey was fast and painless. A week of a few eye drops and my left eye was like I was 21 years old again! I am currently 71 years old and it’s now time for my right eye to have the same cataract and bifold lens procedure. At my age, I am a little more nervous about surgeries. I wouldn’t go to, or trust, anyone but Dr. Stanek to do my upcoming surgery, especially at my age. My wife, I and my family have been seeing Dr. Stanek for years. He is so knowledgeable and absolutely one of the best Ophthalmologists in the Twin Cities! He has performed Lasik eye surgery on us almost twenty years ago and our eye sight is still great! My son recently had a similar PRK surgery on his eyes. I told one of my best friends to see him for Lasik eye surgery because he was a hunter and didn't want to wear glasses. Dr. Stanek evaluated him and told him his pupils were too large for the current technology at that time and that he wouldn't be happy with the results.
