I had severe hip pain in 2003 and researched orthopedic doctors. When I saw Doctor Humbert’s resume, that was as far as I needed to go. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Masters Degree in Bio Medical Engineering, then an MDAlso, I learned he does hundreds of joint replacements per year. I had my first joint, my hip, done in 2004. All pre op appointments were easy to make. Staff was very professional and polite. I received a folder on scheduling about what to do before and what to expect after the surgery. There was also a short pre operation class. . On the day of surgery, the wait was brief to get in, the hospital staff professional, polite and informative. Post operation treatment and rehab was excellent. I never had one problem. Total knee replacement. It all went well. My incision was totally closed at 2 weeks. Was walking with just a cane at 2 weeks. Never needed a walker. 4 weeks totally healed and waking no cane. I continue getting stronger after a total hip replacement. I started on the fifth of September 2022. My severe pain was affecting my mobility. My hip did not allow any anterior or interior rotation. I am extremely happy with the entire surgical experience. I met with Dr. Humbert and surgery was needed as injections no longer alleviated the hip pain. Surgical staff was well organized and explained every step of the procedure. After 4 weeks I have minimal pain and have resumed all activities. I am not the typical patient. I am Weight high risk. Others have turned me down because of that! Dr H looked beyond the numbers and realized the need of my surgery after being 4 years bone on bone. I had my first knee replacement 12 years ago. the results were great, however the recovery was slow and painful. The only pain meds were opioids which I didn't really want but had no choice. In 3 months I was starting to get around ok. Needless to say I was dreading the replacement of my other knee, but I couldn't put it off any longer. I chose Dr. Humbert for this surgery, best choice I made in a long time. The surgery went smooth. The meds were mostly non-narcotic but very effective. Rehabbed for three weeks and was walking pain free after that. No more rehab was required. I planed on going back to work as a painter in a retirement community in three month, however everything went so well I was back at work with no restrictions after two months. Several things set Dr. Humbert apart: Dr. Humbert met in private and alone with my husband following my knee replacement surgery, (Not all surgeons meet privately.) Dr. Humbert has a nerve block inserted following surgery, which means zero or almost no pain for up to 72 hours, Although Dr. Humbert has physician’s assistants, he always met with me personally at each and every appointment. My first knee doctor wanted to put me under the knife for a meniscus tear. Dr. Humbert disagreed and said an anti-inflammatory injection (Kenalog) would be more appropriate as It wasn’t that severe. Total left knee replacement was done in November of 2018. I had a full recovery with 3x a week physical therapy and no more pain after 3-4 weeks. Very successful surgery and happy patient! Dr Humbert replaced my right knee during May 2018 and my left during December 2018. Both outcomes were great and well beyond my expectations. When the pain becomes a constant torture, and when self treatment was becoming a nightmare of OTC drugs and ointments, I listened to the TV ads about Dr. Humbert. I had bi-lateral knee replacement surgery 11 months ago by Dr. Humbert. And although the rehab was tough and I wouldn't recommend doing both knees to everyone.
