I have been going to Dr Thomas Kim for years for both shoulder and knee issues. So far he has replaced one shoulder joint and I couldn't be happier with the results (better than expected). The other is scheduled for June and I have no doubt it will meet or exceed my expectations. He always takes time to talk with me about options and thoroughly explains both pros and cons about treatments. Never pressured to make a decision one way or the other. Had my right knee replaced by Dr Thomas Kim. Professional upbeat experience. He used great physical therapists from Guardian Home Health in Northfield. He wanted me to have 5 times per week which was great. A CPM machine ordered for me this was terrific as well as my outpatient therapy at Northwest Community Wellness Center. Dr Kim is a very talented surgeon and I am lucky to have him working on me. He repaired both my shoulders in and 2011 and 2019. I am now 66 and can seated shoulder press 200lbs for 10 reps.. I had a complete tear in the ACL of my left knee due to a ski accident. Dr. Kim fully explained my options and helped me determine what was the best course of action for me personally. He replaced the torn ACL with my own tendon in a very successful surgery. I have no restrictions on any physical activity. Three months ago Dr. Kim diagnosed me with bone on bone arthritis of my shoulder. I had been dealing with this progressive pain for several years and finally decided that I really needed some relief. Dr. Kim gave me a cortisone injection in the shoulder, which had surprisingly minimal discomfort, and now three months later I still have no shoulder pain. Dr. Kim also performed a hip replacement on my husband in 2020 and did a great job. He is very professional, explains things well and answers any questions you have. Being in high pain (8/9), in over a week of trying To get an appointment at the VA, Dr Kim’s office took my call on a Friday and got me in to see him the next Monday. I filled out the paper work off the Internet and brought it in with me. The front desk took my Insurance cards and ID , and I was immediately Take for X-rays. Then into the exam room. Dr Kim came in, read the X-ray, explained the problem (will need replacement knee soon), in the meantime, he removed 90cc of fluid from my knee and injected cortisone.. I was in and out in 30 minutes!! By morning I was much better and able to get up, walk w/o cart or cane and pain free. Also slept pain free the initial night. Fantastic!Patient Submitted Review

From the first meeting, I knew I had found a first rate surgeon and a compassionate medical professional. My surgery was a complete success with a now barely visible incision site. I chose Dr. Kim for 2 reasons. First he works out of Northwest Community Hospital which is the hospital that I prefer. Second he has 25 years of experience and does robotic surgery, When I met him, I was very pleased with his manner and tone. He is pleasant and informative. The surgery went very well. I was doing most things by week 4 after the surgery, including riding my bike outside. By week 8 I was not showing any signs of the surgery in my walk or any other activity.
