I had a great experience at this office today. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff were friendly, upbeat, and welcoming, which immediately made the visit feel less stressful. The doctor was professional, attentive, and took the time to really listen to what I was saying about my symptoms and concerns. I never felt rushed. They explained all of the possible treatment options clearly and made sure I understood each one. What I appreciated most was that I felt genuinely heard and included in the decision-making process. The doctor encouraged questions and made it clear that the treatment plan would be something we decided on together, without any pressure. Overall, a very positive experience and I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone needing hand care.

Every time I see Dr. Truluck I am reminded of what a good doctor is. He is a doctor that listens and concerned about all your health, not just your hands that you came in for. Dr Truluck is great! I had him do my surgery on my elbow back in 2012 and am back for a torn ligament in my wrist and carpal tunnel in my hands. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He takes his time with you and answers any questions you asks. He is conservative and will take the steps that are safest and least invasive unless absolutely necessary. He takes into consideration the path you want to go after he provides all the options available and the risks of each option. You can't go wrong with Dr Truluck. She took care of getting me checked in with ease. I was very pleased with Dr.Truluck when I came in for my consultation regarding a large cyst on my wrist + osteoarthritis in my painful thumb joint. He was so nice + compassionate. Just left my appointment with Dr. Truluck. From the front desk receptionist, (who was wearing a mask, but I could still tell she had a beautiful smile she greeted me and also said good bye) the MA who brought me back to the room, (who hugged me when she saw tears in my eyes, because going to the surgeons office is vulnerable for me) to the physician himself (who let me vent a little and didn’t cut me off, allowed me to voice my feelings without making me feel like less of a person. He was sincere, relatable and professional). Then the surgery scheduler at them end of my appointment. This lady knows the ins and outs of insurance, and is willing to go above and beyond by making sure we pick a good surgery date for me. She was patient with me and all my questions. Each and every one of them was top notch and showed true care and compassion for me (the patient). Everything was done with kindness, excellence and in a very efficient, timely manner. My PCP referred me to Dr. Truluck after I fractured a bone in my wrist. From the moment I met him and the staff at Great Lakes Hand Surgery Center it has been all good! Everyone has been great to work with during this time. Just recently I had surgery on my wrist to insert a screw in it and doc was excellent! Everything went great and now I’m in recovery mode. Two-and-a-half weeks s/p carpal tunnel release and I'm happily flipping the bird without pain again! Dr. Truluck's skill was first evident with the adorable stitches placed in the incision -- seriously, the best looking knots ever sewn into my flesh. Truluck and his staff are very friendly and quick to respond to issues or questions. The only negative? I had to wait several months for the initial appointment, but I took his popularity as a good sign. After that things sped right along. I’m very pleased with my recent experience with Dr. Trulock and another Doc who examined my left hand/thumb. My wonderful hand doctor for over 10 years (Dr. Stephens) retired, so because there are few hand specialists, I had to wait for several months to get an appointment. He is an amazing doctor. My problem was minor. I only needed steroid shots in my wrist. But my husband had a horrible fall several years ago and shattered his wrist. Dr. Truluck rebuilt it and he has full use of it. We highly recommend him to anyone needing his specialty.Patient Submitted Review

After reviewing my MRI, he took the time to explain my options and possible resulting scenarios. Ended up choosing surgery and glad I did. Dr Truluck and his entire staff i.e. Amy, Randy and Heidi are all wonderful. Dr Truluck is a very friendly, knowledgeable and professional hand surgeon. I broke my pinky finger while in Arizona during the winter and had 2 surgeries on my finger while there. The first surgery was to repair the break and put a metal plate in finger. The 2nd surgery was due to scar tissue building up around tendons, causing my finger to not bend 3 months later, even with extensive therapy. When I returned to Michigan I still had to have a 3rd surgery to release more scar tissue, and a contracture release. Dr Truluck was fine with doing the 3rd surgery, even though the first 2 surgeries had been performed by another surgeon in another state. Which was a concern to me when I first returned home to Michigan, if I could find a surgeon to do follow up surgery from work previously performed by another surgeon. But after hearing great reviews about Dr Truluck from a few friends, I gave Dr Truluck a call and was not disappointed. Also, Amy and Randy are both great assets to Dr Truluck.
