Dr Magnusson is fantastic- listening to all questions, concerns and alleviating fears. He takes his time to explain everything and give suggestions which is so very helpful for patients recovering from surgery. His nurse, Ali, is also amazing, kind, patient and caring. had a “violent triple break and dislocation of my right ankle” and “severe sprain of my left ankle”. Having never met Dr. Magnusson while admitted to the hospital, he came to introduce himself and explain the surgery shortly before the operation. He made me feel at ease and confident in his abilities. His work was praised by every single nurse I had while admitted into the hospital. I have never felt like just a number. His communication in mychart also has impressed me as he takes time to answer questions and give explanations. I know my healing has been in excellent hands. I just had a six week followup to a complete femur and knee reconstruction. Dr. Magnusson took the time to show me a model of a knee. Then he drew over the top of the x-ray showing me how my bones were healing and that they were in complete alignment. His calm and knowledgeable communication was reassuring. He did not sugarcoat that my rehab and recovery was going to be a challenge. But he inspired me that I could do it. He reassured me that my pain and swelling were normal for a surgery of this magnitude. I was blessed that he was on duty the night that I wrecked my knee. He led me thru each step as they used external bracing to hold my knee together for a week to let the swelling subside. He was so positive the day of the surgery and when I awoke, he was there and telling me how successful the surgery had went. He also told me that he had bent my knee to a full 90 degrees after the surgery and that I woukd have a full recovery. He checked up on me in the ICU and started me on the path of recovering my range of motion. After being transferred to the orthopedic ward, he personally removed my stitches and helped me extend my stay in the hospital as I was not ready for discharge. I am thankful to have Dr. Erik Magnusson taking care of my knee reconstruction. There is no better doctor for what I did to myself. He is the Best.Patient Submitted Review

I saw Dr. Magnusson for me ankle replacement or fusion. He gave me either options; explained pros and cons of each options, like reading from the text book, without any rushing , like giving the presentations explained everything in detailed. Dr Magnusson did two different surgeries for me. I was in a horrible car accident and there was a chance I wouldn’t be able to walk on my right leg ever again. After a motorcycle accident resulting in a complex broken scapula bone, I was told by an ER team that helped me that I would experience lifelong shoulder pain and arthritis from the injury. Through prayer and a trusted referral to Dr. Erik Magnusson, I scheduled my surgery appointment trusting his confidence and experience in his specialization in bone repair surgery. I can't recommend Dr. Erik Magnusson enough. He is superbly proficient and meticulous. His bedside manner is comforting and enthusiastic. He's not only an expert surgeon, he's a joy to be around. My surgery lasted longer than expected, because Dr. Magnusson refused to stop until the procedure was complete, the right way. After my surgery, I underwent physical therapy for about 3-4 months. I'm a moderately healthy and active 31 year old male. Physical therapy is a key component to the recovery process. As far as my bone repair, X-rays show a near perfect healing. I'm 6 months post surgery and have 100% mobility and am practically back to full strength in my weightlifting. I am so appreciative of the excellent surgery Dr Magnusson did on my tibula.this surgery was 8 weeks after I broke my fibula ,and was scared as it was a major surgery. I broke my tibia in January and needed to have emergency surgery Dr. Magnusson agreed to do the surgery the next day. Now I am 5 months post-op and my leg has fully recovered, no pain and I have full movement back. Hiking, running and riding my bike. Dr. Magnusson is a stellar surgeon. He basically saved my foot. He is caring with a natural bedside manner. He takes the time to explain the procedures and the anatomy behind your issues. He got so involved examining my foot once that I swear he was giving it a pep talk. I thank my lucky stars that he was able to take my case during a pandemic where all medical attention takes forever. His assistant Katie deserves special thanks as well.
