Dr. Berg recently performed surgery on my 17-year olds shoulder. He had a torn labrum and rotator cuff from playing soccer. My shoulder was completely shattered from a bad injury in 2014, and Dr. Berg spent over 5 hours putting it back together. He went out of his way to not replace the whole shoulder, but rather to fix it because he saw that I was an active person that would benefit by that. He fully explained that I would not get full motion back, as he had to put in a titanium plate and 17 screws. Despite that, I have remained active and I am able to play guitar and I have even had some gigs. Thank you very, very much for putting my shoulder back together and putting up with me. Dr. Berg is the gold standard, the ABSOLTE BEST! His approach to patient care is unparalleled. There should be more doctors like him. I went in with a swollen leg and knee pain. Instead of jumping to invasive options right out of the gate (which is what had I experienced another Dr.), Dr. Berg recommended follow up tests to rule out other possible issues which could have manifested in the same symptoms. He recommended PT while I was undergoing the other tests. All all test results coming in negative, Dr Berg explained three options for me and gave me the pros and cons of each. I left his office feeling more optimistic about the future and my own progress. Above all, I have confidence that if/when I need any intervention, I have found the right Dr for it. He’s straight to the point which I love and he has a great goofy sock collection. I moved this year to a place about 30-40 minutes away from the Centreville location where he works sometimes and I refuse to get another orthopedic doctor because I like him so much. Went to see Dr. Berg almost a month after I had completely ruptured my Achilles. Not only did Dr. Berg do a wonderful job repairing my Achilles despite the delayed surgery, but he also noticed swelling in my leg which turned out to be a blood clot. I went to Dr. Berg for a second opinion for my Shoulder pain. Surgery was previously recommended. Dr. Berg explained me why surgery is required and I was very pleased with his knowledge, approach, patience and not rushing on the surgery. I gained confidence after his explanation on the treatment approach and I decided to go for the surgery. He started getting in tough with me a week before the surgery using medical App/Text which was wonderful and continue to do so after the surgery. He (using the App) checked the status of my pain level almost everyday.He was available and he answered all my questions in a timely manner even after the surgery. Dr Berg was the doctor for both of my son's injuries. My oldest had him for his broken arm and ACL repair and my youngest just finished his ACL repair. Now it was my turn for a rotator cuff repair. All surgeries have been successful and as a patients we have been completely informed of what to expect and the recovery timeframe. Dr. Berg is very thorough in his diagnosis and the information he will provide to a patient. He repaired my right ACL im 2009.
