I was treated with utmost respect, called in right away, seen right away, given all the time I needed. This practice puts all other medical facilities and practices to SHAME. This is how it should be done, and no doctor that makes their patients wait ridiculous amounts of time, rushes them through their appointment, and doesn't really pay attention to what they need deserves to have patients. Thanks Dr. Nilssen: Finally pain free after 37 years! When I moved to the Pensacola area I had a broken foot and was wearing a boot. A lady at my church and another at the school where I work asked if I needed a foot doctor. They both had successful foot surgeries byDr, Nilssen, and recommended him. I made an appointment. While he was reviewing my files from another doctor from another city, he asked about some MRI scans. I told him to not worry about those because I was there to see him about the other foot. I said there is no help for the right foot. I've had that problem for 37 years and two surgeries in another state and four doctors later, no one could find help for it. While he treated my left foot I came to see him about, he cared that I was still having pain in the right foot. He took time to review the MRI. He thought he could help, but needed a current MRI. With the new MRI he recommended surgery and saw something a very reputable doctor had missed. It's been 14 months since I had the surgery and I am now pain free for the first time since I was 18 years old. Now I can chase my grandsons and stand all day teaching without pain, whereas chasing my own children and standing to teach in graduate school at 22 was literally a pain in the foot! I felt that pain every single day for 37 years. I had shooting pain that would cause me to jerk my foot at night--kicking my husband for more than 33 years. Some nights the pain kept me up. Now I have no pain when I lie down or walk, stand or run and we both sleep much better! Thank you Dr. Nilssen for caring about the pain I didn't even come to see you about and taking time to go back and review those old images! I would give him ten stars if possible. I brought my son to him after using another doctor that misdiagnosed his injury. Dr. Neilson quickly realized the problem, scheduled surgery and got my son on track to recovery. It was a tough experience but Dr. Neilson was kind, encouraging, and most importantly an excellent surgeon. Follow-up care was great! It’s been two years since the surgery and we went back today just for reassurance my son was okay to continue strenuous sports. Dr. Neilson was again kind and knowledgeable. I recently had the pleasure of going to Dr. Nilssen's practice to get a second opinion. My original doctor recommended removing a broken sesamoid bone. I was so glad to hear that Dr. Nilssen could do a debridement instead and that removing the bone was not necessary. Everything went smoothly. I'm 1.5 weeks post opp and have been walking in a boot since immediately after. His practice is extremely clean, his staff are all knowledgable and kind, and he has a great bedside manner. Extremely happy with our visit with Dr. Nilssen. My son had an acute, but non-emergency ortho issue that we needed to have evaluated. Dr. Nilssen's office was the only one that I could find in Pensacola that would even consider a same day/urgent care type visit. dr e in 2012 took my 68 year old Achilles tendon and removed years of tendonitis and tenopathy. that tendon was runnable in 9 weeks and still at 74 can run a 400 meters in under my years. he recommended and used the prp application that accelerated the healing and recovery process even with my self rehab. the most memorable aspect of our relationship was at my first visit when he said to me " i deal in results"......he certainly delivered! god bless dr e.Patient Submitted Review
