There was no wait to get in to see the Doctor, the medical assistant was nice and professional, and there was also no wait at radiology. Dr. Schick had my diagnosis and imaging to explain what he saw and what my options for treatment were. I agreed with his recommendation, received treatment, and was on my way to better health. Plus, he is a friend of someone I know from the 1990s and 2000s. It is a small world.

I visited Dr. Schick, to evaluate left shoulder pain in the area of a prior injury. The pain was caused by repetitive arm styling for ballroom dancing. I found Dr. Schick to be very personable. He diagnosed the problem and recommended treatment which didn't involve surgery. Although I was somewhat doubtful, he knew exactly when I was ready to go back to dancing and he was right. Dr Schick had great compassion for my situation from a recent trauma, full shoulder dislocation And it’s associated complications. He performed anterior labral repair with Arthrex knotless suture anchors for my left shoulder that had the dislocation back in April 2025. Then January 2026, he did a 2nd surgery on right shoulder also for anterior labral tear. I travel 7 hrs by car one way to come to this top-notch surgeon. I would highly recommend Dr. Schick. I had a dislocated right shoulder with chip broken off from glenoid. He was concerned that it would not heal properly without surgery and went over all pros and cons. However, having lived in this body for more than 7 decades and watched it heal quickly, especially in recent years, I offered that I would like to focus on healing it naturally without surgery. He was supportive and returning just yesterday, 5.7.24, after 12 weeks of my working with a wide range of healing tools, and looking at new x-rays, he was amazed at the healing that occurred...and stated that he really didn't expect this to occur...and acknowledged that I was right to trust my instincts and body in this matter. Dr. Schick was referred to me by a friend who is an RN. I am an orthopedic mess…my thumb joints, hands and wrists were a mess. He sent me to get nerve studies and ended up doing an ulnar nerve repair/carpal tunnel repair on my left side and a carpal tunnel repair on my right. He also did a CMC Arthoplasty on both, and just did a rotator cuff repair, etc. on my right side (forgot to mention I tore both those too). I am so happy with the results. I shattered my ankle, breaking all three bones in more than one spot. Dr. Schick was friendly, understanding, and skilled in providing my surgery and follow-up treatment. This was an injury that has left other people lame, yet I'm backpacking, riding skateboards, and playing tennis now that I'm fully recovered. I love Dr. Schick! I have seen him twice now for two different issues, one being a finger and the more serious one my shoulder. I've been a pain in the toosh with my recovery and he has put up with me, LOL! Every time I see him he is so very nice, understanding and treats me with compassion and kindness. Dr.Schick’s office is lovely. I was reluctant to go in due to C19, but sawed into two of my fingers and needed to be seen. The office is interested in keeping us all safe with C19 screenings. He has taken care of numerous members of my family ranging from my 80 y/o mother who suffered a horrible fragmented fractured elbow-which he was able to put it back together beautifully, to my husbands broken fingers, to my 14 y/o pitchers elbow/ injured growth plate. If you're deciding between surgeons, save your time and go with Dr Schick! I did a lot of research and received multiple opinions, and am very happy with my decision so far. I saw Dr Schick for a UCL thumb repair surgery. He saw me same day to evaluate the injury during his lunch break, which sped the whole process along, and allowed me to get care more quickly. He was able to tell what had happened, from the initial eval, and then used the MRI to confirm. He and his entire team, from medical assistant to physical therapist to receptionist and surgery nurses have been incredibly helpful, empathetic, friendly and knowledgable. I have a lot of questions and Dr Schick always takes the time to answer them, which means a lot to me. I feel like he genuinely cares about my recovery and that I return to full function. Most of all, I hear that he does great a great job. He seems to take great care and attention with his work, and also uses currently researched materials in his surgeries (which means I won't have any unnecessary metals afterwards in my body). I had a very smooth surgery and am wishing the best for the recovery. Injuries are no fun, but having a great care team makes all the difference.
