Dr Wu was outstanding with his thoroughness, knowledge, and clear explanations, as well as empathy and skill as a surgeon ( per my friend who recommended him and had surgery) He took the time to listen carefully and zoom in on the wrist x rays that another doctor at the same practice had already looked at . He found more issues on the same X-rays that had been missed by the prior doctor as this was a second opinion . This was because he spent more time listening to everything I shared, so he knew what to look for in the X-rays . He was very patient as well and even referred me to several other doctors for unrelated issues I shared . He advised cortisol shots for me as I already had tried therapy and splinting He also looked at 3 views of my shoulder and explained what was happening in my shoulder in great detail so I could understand. I'm a musician that plays bass guitar and a 12 string bass guitar. Two years ago ago I had Dr Wu perform a trapeze-ectomy on my left thumb. At the start of 2025, It was becoming clear that I needed it done on my right hand desperately. The day after the surgery, I felt absolutely no pain. I don't know if that was a fluke, but the surgery went beautifully and I was playing my bass guitar decently within 10 days. this was surgery on my slapping thumb and I was able to slap with it slightly 10 days later. I was referred to Dr. Meister after a serious elbow fracture in late 2023 and he surgically replaced the olecranon bone and inserted metal pieces in arm/elbow. He was very thorough in explaining procedure prior to and after surgery with needed follow ups.. He was also very kind in all of his treatment as have All of Staff/Assistants. I had several months of Arm Physical Therapy with excellent, kind, supportive Therapists! They were my greatest helpers in getting me back to normal arm functioning . Dr. Meister stated that I could request removal of the metal pieces within a period of time close to a year after and I chose this option and the metal was successfullly removed approximately 11 months after implanted. Again…Dr.Meister and Staff were so kind, thorough, supportive and got me through this 2nd surgery to get to even more normal arm functioning and reduced discomfort. The surgical area has healed very quickly and a short PT catch up with his therapy staff helped me to continue moving forward and function normally. Dr. Wu is my favorite doctor! I have continuous shoulder problems, and he is very good at explaining what’s going on with your body. He doodles to show you which makes it easier to understand. I fell last year and broke my wrist and thumb, and was so glad that I already had him as my doctor to put the casts on and make sure I healed properly. Sliced open the inside of my thumb with a very sharp kitchen blade a few weeks back. ER stitched up and referred me to Dr. Wu for follow up. I had severed a nerve and we discussed options. I play guitar so the injury prohibits that, in addition to most lifting and grasping, let alone feeling! He didn’t push overly hard for surgery but clearly outlined consequences if I didn’t. We scheduled for two days later and I was in and out in a few hours. He talked me through everything clearly, intelligently, and compassionately. Stitches out 9 days later, hoping for full recovery, and he set quick follow up visit! I had surgery for elbow fracture following a fall. He scheduled surgery very quickly upon assessing that bone was misplaced and would not heal properly. Dr. Crimmins is excellent. I’m a dental student so I understand a lot of the medical terminology and the procedures. I had thumb surgery done with Dr. Crimmins because I tore a ligament completely off the bone (UCL injury or gamekeepers thumb). He was so good at explaining everything and answering all the questions I had with diagrams and details (I had a lot of questions). He’s good at dealing with people and he’s extremely confident in his abilities and diagnoses which will make you feel more comfortable. He does have a reason to be confident, he is excellent at what he does and his surgery team is also excellent. Dr. Thompson was my anesthesiologist and he also did an excellent job and told me what medications were given to me via IV and what was given locally as well. The nurses were very sweet and definitely gave me everything I needed and made me feel more relaxed and comfortable prior to and after the procedure. I am currently 3 weeks post surgery and my thumb is regaining mobility. Starting physical therapy and there’s already a big difference from where I was before. Looks like I’ll have a scar but that’s okay because I’m getting my functionality back. Always feel comfortable asking him questions and truly understanding what’s going on, he will usually be right but he will also have the answers if you’re hesitant as well. He will do the least invasive option - if that’s no surgery he will and if that’s a less invasive surgery, he will know for sure when he has the site opened and will do the least invasive thing to get you to where you need to be. This is a late review, post op a few months. I came to the office with rather severe carpal tunnel syndrome and significant loss of sensation. The problem was evaluated completely, with sensory testing and ultrasound, surgery advised and scheduled. The entire office staff were friendly, especially Margaret. Results of my surgery have been excellent. I had almost immediate return of most sensation. I am very pleased with the entire experience. I now need the other wrist surgery. When you speak to Dr. Crimmins, one discerns immediately that this is a man on top of his game. He exudes confidence, and is superb at conveying information. And, unlike so many medical professionals today, you won't find him speaking down to you. But the proof is in the pudding, and in my experience he under-promises and over-delivers. I underwent a wrist arthroscopy as a diagnostic precursor to dealing with my DISI wrist. Before the procedure, Dr. Crimmins may have mildly suggested that there might be some improvement wrought from "cleanup," but I was not expecting the degree of improvement that resulted - call it ~80% - finalized after six weeks or so. Because of this, I am able to delay the full surgery indefinitely. His assistant Margaret earns top marks as someone who is adepts at eliminating bureaucratic pain. I was very comfortable and confident from the start with Dr. Hodgson. He is extremely thorough and does not ever rush through a visit. He explains everything very well and has provided drawings to better explain things that were going on with my hand and thumb. Staff is always helpful and kind and I have never waited very long at a appointment. I did end up requiring surgery and it was a very good experience. Currently still in rehab but so far so good and I already have improvement. Dr. Crimmins really took care of me when I came in for strict pain in my left (dominant) wrist. After a WHOLE year of being in pain and guessing between a possible sprain, ganglion cyst, and tendonosis/tendonitis in my wrist I saw Dr. Cimmins and he knew exactly what it was! De Quervain's Tendonitis. He gave me confidence that I could be able to write again without being in so much pain. He knew exactly what he was doing and was very easy to work with. I had a high deductible insurance plan and he explained all my options, costs and prognosis. I was able to receive a quick 20 minute procedure in his Glendale office. Dr. Crimmins did a lot to improve my left arm that got deformed due to a childhood accident. I was unable to extend some of my fingers and had a deformity on my palm, and he was able to work on both my arm's functionality and aesthetics. The net result was impressive and better than I though it would be. He could have turned me away claiming it would be risky and unfruitful, but he walked the extra mile with me and explained every step in a great amount of detail while listening to my ideas and suggestions. To address my carpal tunnel, Dr. Crimmins performed endoscopic surgery on both of my wrists six months apart. I couldn't be happier with the experience. Within 3 minutes of meeting Dr. Crimmins, he was able to manipulate my hand in a way that indicated what the problem was. Having no medical background/knowledge, I found it funny he was able to figure out what was physically wrong before I even described the actually pain to him myself (which I doubt I would have been able to accurately do anyways). It ended up being something called de quervain's tenosynovitis. He explained what it was to me in an easy-to-understand way (no medical jargon at all) and told me what he would do in surgery. The staff was all very friendly. Prior to meeting Doctor Crimmins, they immediately took x-rays. Post-meeting with Doctor Crimmins, the staff set up my procedure 2-weeks out (which I thought was great considering how long I've been dealing with hand pain). The week prior to surgery, I received a phone call from a nurse to let me know I could call if I had any questions or concerns leading up to the surgery, and instructions on what/what not to do on the day of surgery were made clear. The day of surgery, the nurses were all very friendly and helpful as well as the anesthesiologist. Doctor Crimmins came in to greet me before and after surgery to check-in and make sure things were OK. Not even 5 days post-op, I went back in to get the stitches removed and to meet with Doctor Crimmins for a follow-up. My "recovery" is simply to use it as much or as little as I want, no physical therapy or bandages needed. I am already comfortable moving my wrist around again with no pain (it's almost like nothing ever happened in the first place). Everything was beyond smooth and I would recommend this awesome doc to anyone who needs medical care with upper extremity pain. A+ for overall experience, friendliness and effectiveness. Dr. Meister took care of my son when he sprained his finger. We skipped an evening trip to urgent care and instead called Hand Surgery Ltd. first thing in the morning. We got in right away. They took an x-ray in the office and confirmed that there was no fracture. Dr. Meister was great with my son and extremely thorough in his exam. Best hand and wrist surgeon ever. Did my homework before going to him and he has succeeded my expectations. His surgery skills are phenomena. He moved tendons and nerves to help my hand and I have no nerve damage whatsoever. He is also a great communicator when in the office and explains things so you understand. I have to say that Dr. Crimmins is the best in the business! I have had three had operations done by him. I had my first one in 8th grade when I ruptured a tendon in my left ring finger playing football. He removed it since the tendon died from not being addressed right away. I have no issues grabbing things 13 years later. I also have my RCL repaired in both my thumbs. Both of these were football injuries too. The first RCL was fall of 2006. I was cast for 4 weeks and hard splint for 4 weeks. I also had a pin in the main joint of the thumb. Recovery and therapy went great. The left thumbs was January 2011. I was cast 8 weeks with no pin and made a great recovery with this too. He knows how to treat patients and knows how to get them back to work and their hobbies as quick as possible. Dr. Hodgson has been my surgeon for 6 out of 7 surgeries on my hand. He is a very knowledgeable man who takes the time to go over things in detail and makes sure you understand the procedure. On post-ops he always wanted to make sure things were going as they should be and always made sure my hand therapists were doing what they should be doing. It has been 2 years since I changed insurance and can no longer see him, my new doctors are amazed at my movement after so many surgeries, I smile and tell them I had the best hand surgeon in the World. I recommend him to anyone, my Dad even went and had him preform his hand surgery as Dr. Hodgson knows what he is doing. I drove an hour and ten minutes each way to see him.
