I have nothing but the very best to say about Dr. Bruckner and his entire staff at Proliance in Bellevue. I was suffering from intensifying hip for more than two years. As many of us do. I just kept putting off seeing a doctor about it until my husband came to retirement age and realizing we were about to lose our insurance, I figured it would be wise to at least - ‘look into hip surgery.’ I was encouraged by a woman in my Jazzercise class who had great things to say about the procedure itself AND her surgeon SO I went. What a kind, thoughtful and encouraging doctor and nurse! I had the hip replaced June 23 at Overlake Hospital. It was a very positive experience! Instant pain relief and the procedure itself was really not that difficult or painful. I took only Tylenol and antibiotics and baby aspirin after though we all have different levels of pain tolerance so this might not be YOUR story but it was quite manageable for me. I would encourage anyone considering a hip replacement surgery (or apparently knee as well) to get in now because there were rumors about retirement within a year or so and this is the specific doctor you will surely be most pleased to have do a procedure for YOU. One of the best things I have done for myself. What a big relief not to have that awful pain any more with every step. Mine was caused by falling in a well almost 15 years ago. Why I ever waited so long? I don’t know. Many young people have this procedure done. Our son had hip surgery in his early 30’s and come to find out… It was Dr. Bruckner himself, earlier in his career, who had developed the particular procedure for what is called FMI. Different from what I had done (total replacement) This caring, talented physician/surgeon is truly very gifted at what he does. So don’t delay… go see him now.Patient Submitted Review

I went to see Dr Bruckner last year because I had severe hip issues, then by October I could barely walk. I called the office, and arrangements were made right away to have a consult. I was in the hospital by November 28, 2023. The entire Bruckner Team was amazing from the Office Staff all the way up to and including the entire team: Anesthesia, Nurses, Support staff. The care I got was incredible. I have to say a great deal of advancements have been made since I began my career in nursing. When I worked in Orthopedics as a young RN, you were in the hospital for a least a week. When I went to have my hip replaced I was there in the AM, surgery complete and then out the door at 1700 the same day. All the follow up visits were great! All the office staff at the follow up visits amazing. If I was a wealthy woman Dr Bruckner, I would be in your office for the next two surgeries for my knees, hands down. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Bruckner for over a decade! He’s the most down to earth, common sense Doctor we have. He has performed hip surgeries on both of us (torn labrum’s) and most recently saw me for a knee problem that turned out to be a torn meniscus. He didn’t rush to suggest surgery but explained it might be best to consider going without and strengthening my legs and core to help. My knee was the size of a grapefruit and I thought for sure I’d need surgery. Instead I listened and as still living with it with occasional Aleve. He suggested fish oil, turmeric and glucosamine to both my husband and I, which we take. We love that he’s not immediately suggesting pharmaceuticals or surgery knowing how active we are. I saw him today for my other knee and may be the same situation so no surgery for me! He remembers us by name and our history which is refreshing as well! I went to Dr. Bruckner for a total hip replacement. The end-to-end experience has been very good, and the surgery succeeded beyond all my expectations. From permanent pain and difficulty climbing stairs or walking a few hundred yards, I'm pretty much back to the "normal" state - before the sickness. Both Dr. Bruckner and the rest of his team have been very professional, have explained the situation and options clearly and have patiently answered my (many) questions. I was especially impressed by their attention to detail: they gave me a lot of suggestions and recommendations, some of which I'd never have thought about. The surgery went without a hitch, and I had much less pain afterwards than I expected. I could get through the first days with only Tylenol and a few cold packs applied to the surgery site. I had a hip scope with Dr Bruckner on 1/26. Torn labrum and impingement. Today is 1/31 and I am amazed that I am pain free for the first time in months. Also, I haven’t had to use any pain medication since the day after surgery. It’s been a great experience from my initial meeting to know. I did research before deciding on a provider and I found great reviews fro Dr. Bruckner. My goal going into hip replacement was to be able to return to my previous active life but better. It’s been one year post op and I am now returning to trail running. Was able to see Dr Bruckner within a week of calling for appointment. Dr ordered additional X-rays and he was able to take those images immediately (while at appt) and had results in moments. We got right into my health situation and formulated a plan and then also some contingencies. I appreciated his straight forward approach, delivering the facts and plan with confidence. When asked about his successful rate and competency he shared that he’s been performing this procedure for 20 years with great success and was part of the ground floor introduction of this limited invasive technique. I met with Dr Bruckner to assess the cause and remedy for pain I've been having in my hip. He was great. He dialed in to discover what is causing my pain, and explained the continuum of experience I'll be having, with a recognition we'll be working as a team to identify when corrective surgery will be needed. I'm a yogi and hiker/backpacker, and Dr Bruckner was sensitive to my need to get back on the trail. I felt he listened to me, diagnosed my condition by obtaining needed data snd scans, and offered a progressive approach of managing pain as I move through time prior to needing surgery. From my very first appointment Dr. Bruckner explained the qualifications required for knee replacement, what to expect with the surgery, recovery and the post-op healing process. When I did choose to have the surgery I was at a point that the pain in my knee was restricting activities that were an integral part of my life. I had the surgery a little more than six weeks ago and I am pleasantly surprised at the progress I have made, I am walking without a limp, doing light chores and doing almost all of my normal everyday activities without a problem. I’m writing this review 6 weeks to the day after having received hip replacement surgery. I am so happy with the outcome on several different levels. The care at Overlake was exceptional, especially the night shift nurses! The pre-op classes and instructional booklet were also helpful as I prepared for surgery. I chose Dr. Bruckner because he was highly recommended but also because of his approachable and caring manner. I am a 60 year old woman who wants to return to a higher activity level than I had prior to surgery. Through following the protocol Dr Bruckner is giving me I have hopes to return to trail running one year from now. I have been on what seems like an endless search for a year and a half trying to find a doctor that can address my hip pain. I’ve had a long history of injuries causing a labral tear and impingement in my hip. After years of pain we decided it was finally time to do something about it. Dr. Bruckner did nothing less than a phenomenal job with my hip arthroscopy. I am just about 6 weeks out and still have plenty of recovering to do, however the state my hip is in now, even with some lingering surgery pain still, is in a far better state than it was 2 months ago. What an amazing experience. Went into a total hip replacement with a little trepidation as I have never really had a serious medical procedure. Dr. Bruckner and his team made it great from start to finish. The information was plentiful, the surgery seamless and the recovery amazingly quick. I was back on my feet the very next day - walking within days and at 4 1/2 weeks back to the gym pretty much full time. After years of going from one Dr to the next with several false diagnoses and many different x-rays Dr Bruckner immediately correctly diagnosed my wife with a labral tear and hip impingement.
