I was worried going in that my appointment would be just quick and that I'd be just another patient, but I was glad to be wrong. Good doctor. Very thorough and well spoken. Makes sure to help you as best as he can and if he cant he knows who can. He has done two knee scopes and will soon be doing a third and a shoulder on me, because I am a terrible klutz and my joints are made of fiberglass (Ehlers-danlos syndrome). He's knowledgeable in my rare condition so he is able to treat me well with it. Worked with him for 5 years in emergency and even sent both my parents to him for the same knee issues. He is professional and stoic but always makes sure you are comfortable with his treatment and that you understand what is going on, so don't feel like he's cold if he doesn't laugh and joke around with you that's just his personality, he tries to match your energy but cut him some slack. Just remember he will always do right by you. I had an ortho ruin my right shoulder in wichita and make me hesitant to trust another but after watching Erik work for many years and getting to know him, I trust him with my life, my joints, my parents lives, and even my car (he knows what that means lol). Erik and staff, thank you for showing me that there are still specialists out there that genuinely want to do right by their patients. You're a great doctor and a great person. My appointment wasn’t until Wednesday I called with a few concerns (I’ve never broken anything before) and she had me come in Friday … I was super nervous but she made it a good experience answered all my questions and re splinted my ankle now the stabbing and numbness in my toes is gone … a lot of drs and nurses have made me feel like I was stupid for some of my questions or flat out ignored me and you could tell she took time to listen to every concern and help me to understand why things are done the way they are with a broken bone … I would definitely refer Alissa to anyone and everyone !!!!
