This group has been nothing short of amazing! My only complaint is the self check-in process, and that's really just a preference not a complaint. Every staff member I have encountered has been more than helpful. I had a full coccygectomy on March 20th by Dr. Scholl. He and the staff at the TOC are amazing, and all the staff at the Spine Tower in Huntsville were wonderful. I was a MFF jumper for over 10 years, and accumulated thousands of jumps. Unfortunately, I injured my back, neck, and legs during a freefall accident. Best Doctor ever. He was patient with my condition. I have been under his care for about 3 years. During which time I was in pain. Don't worry when you are ready we will do the procedure. I was afraid of the procedure for 2 years. But instead of dropping me as a patient he continued to see me as needed. During my last epidural procedure I finally realized it was time for the invasive procedure. Dr. Scholl and his team arranged insurance permission and everything. He walked me through the procedure and his team was exceptional at surgery and helped me relax for the procedure. Week 6 for the first time in years, I was able to walk the length of the local Mall without needing to sit from the back pain. My wife was amazed that we were able to shop together. Dr. Scholl hands and the hands of his trusted assistant to close the site was amazing. Don't even see the scar. Initially the site was swollen but after 6 weeks it's gone down. I was almost paralyzed from neck damage and was in surgery the next day. Felt amazing after 4 vertebrae were fused in my neck. My family Dr referred me to TOC specifically Dr. Scholl after a MRI. I got the results and did a lot of studying about my condition and narrowed it down to 1 of 3 Drs that I would allow to cut my back! 1 in Florida, 1 in Texas, and Dr. Scholl in Huntsville. The procedure could be done minimally evasive or the old fashion way with a 6-8 inch incision. Since Dr Scholl was closest to me I gave him first shot to examine and discuss the procedure. Very friendly and described the surgery and answered all questions. I decided to look no further and go with him. I talked to other who had the exact same procedure and was expecting 4-6 week minimum recovery. I was taking 4-5 pain meds per day before the surgery. I went in on a Thursday morning in great pain. Left Thursday afternoon with no pain!!! I had discomfort but my pain was gone. I felt so much better I went back to my job the next day at noon. No pain pills since!! There are not enough ways to convey what a GREAT, caring doctor, Doctor Scholl is! He has performed three surgeries on me, over the past 15 years. They have been life changing! One time, after complaining to pain doctor for two years and hardly being able to walk, he set up CAT scan after a brief visit...Got right to the point and ended up doing badly needed lumbar fusion. Another time SAME pain doctor missed herniated debris sitting on my spinal chord and Dr. Carroll spotted it. He got me a next-day appointment with Dr. Scholl and He was able to get a team together for emergency surgery that Saturday morning. No words to describe how much pain I was in before the surgery. I suffered for 2 1/2 years with nerve pain in my hip and leg due to an issue with my back that had me putting my life on hold. He performed a fusion in my low back and removed a disc 6 weeks ago and I'm a new person already! I'm pain free and getting back to my active lifestyle. I can't thank him enough!
