Background - I am 86 and had a double bypass after a heart attack10 years ago, and I see Dr. Patel semi-annually to confirm I am still fit for high-intensity workouts. As usual, the check-in was smooth and on time. The checkup was normal, and I can continue to run the fire escape stairs for 24 stories or more with minimal chest pressure on the final stories. I have been seeing Dr Patel for 4 years when I subsequently moved to Pensacola. When moving back to Panama City in 2021 I went right back to Dr. Patel. I had a problem back in 2013 with a blood clot in my leg from a previous knee surgery which could have ended it all. But Dr. Patel did what he knew best and after a brief stay in the hospital I went home safe. When my husband passed away in 2023 Dr. Patel couldn’t have been more compassionate and understanding my grief he was kind and very caring. Having A-fib is not an easy problem to deal with and it does take close observation especially when it doesn’t show up on EKGs sometimes. I love his staff they are courteous and very helpful. Dr. Patel is very well educated and well versed in his field. He answers questions very easily so you can understand it he doesn’t rush through it neither he likes listens to your every word when you have an issue or question. Dr Patel leaves no stone unturned and is the most thorough cardiologist I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I had an urgent need for a carotid cath and was fortunate enough to be able to see Dr Patel. Though he was able to conduct the cath I needed to see a vascular surgeon due to the blockages. Dr Patel advised me of the seriousness of the situation and was able to get me in to see a vascular surgeon almost immediately and I had surgery 3 days later. First .... my husband was sent by ambulance to the ER and the cardiologist on call that afternoon, (I will not mention any names) had the most horrible attitude that I have ever encountered EVER. If it had not been for fear of what was happening to my husband I would have asked him why he was speaking so crudely and demeaning.
