September my fiance kyle was in a bad accident and has a broken fractured pelvis , broken femur, and collar bone. Dr. Howard was amazing, direct, honest and the only dr that checked in with me during this surgery. He had internal bleeding as well and was very lucky to be alive. All nurses and doctors respect dr. Howard at sunrise hospital and all said he is very thorough and amazing..also not to touch his bandages..lol unfortunately we live in Arizona and had to be air lifted to Vegas and we are having a hard time getting an ortho dr out here, but we wish we could go back to dr. Dr. Shain Howard is a caring and effective surgeon. When I fell and realized that my left hip was broken, I was told that I would need hip surgery. Prior to my surgery, Dr. Howard spent 20 minutes explaining the options that were available to me. I had a clear idea of what I needed to do. After surgery he was there for me. I have done my follow up and he spends time to find out how I am doing. I am currently the caregiver for my husband post transplant. Dr. Howard inquired as to how he was doing. My 78 year old dad fractured his left hip in late December of 2023. Dr. Howard performed surgery shortly after and it went fantastic. My dad was up walking within a week and was walking normally within 2 months of rehab. The follow up visits have been great as well. He’s very thorough in his explanations and treatment plans and his confidence evokes trust in what he’s doing. He let us know that both my dads right hip and left knee qualify for replacement surgery (severe arthritis) but did not push this option on us due to the many complications that come with those procedures. Met Dr. Howard after I fell and broke my hip. He calmly explained the surgery that needed to be done so that my wife and I knew exactly what needed to be performed. Prior to and going into surgery he was very thorough in ensuring everyone knew what was required in the operating theatre. My wife had serious bone injuries in both arms. Dr Howard took the time to explain pros and cons of various options to repair the injuries. The surgery was completed without any problems and no problems with recovery. My wife is on the road to 90% recovery in both arms. (Dr Howard explained that she will not achieve 100% recovery after the trauma she suffered.). We are just so upset that after operating on her, Dr Howard is no longer in our network. I recommend bringing a cushion to set on the seats in the waiting area. Dr Howard is an Amazing doctor/person. Will forever be grateful for what he did for me.
