Janae Rothe, LGSW, works with teens (14+) and adults navigating anxiety, mood changes, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, and periods of feeling disconnected from themselves. She has a special interest in women’s mental health, including PMDD and the emotional, relational, and identity-related challenges that can come alongside hormonal changes and transitions.
Janae believes therapy should feel collaborative, genuine, and grounded in trust. She strives to create a space where clients feel safe enough to show up honestly, explore what has been weighing on them, and begin moving toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. Her style is warm, down-to-earth, and engaged, balancing compassion and humor with gentle honesty and encouragement toward growth.
Using an individualized and client-centered approach, Janae integrates modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and internal systems approaches to help clients better understand patterns, navigate emotions, improve relationships, and build practical coping skills. She enjoys helping clients explore different parts of themselves with curiosity and self-compassion rather than shame or self-criticism. Janae believes people make sense within the context of their experiences, relationships, and environments, and that healing often begins with feeling heard, understood, and accepted as you are.
Janae especially enjoys working with teens and young adults who are looking for a therapist who feels authentic, approachable, and genuinely invested in getting to know them beyond a diagnosis or checklist of symptoms.
Outside of work, Janae enjoys spending time with family and her Shiba Inu, listening to music, being in nature, and camping. She welcomes meaningful song lyrics into session when they help express something difficult to put into words.
