Dr. Dean Phan, D.O., grew up in Irvine, California. Before entering medical school, he gained valuable, hands-on clinical experience working as both a medical assistant and an EMT—roles that significantly deepened his commitment to patient care.
Dr. Phan chose Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) for its exceptional faculty, comprehensive training opportunities, and excellent location. Looking to the future, he plans to practice full-spectrum family medicine across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Phan prioritizes spending quality time with his family and friends. He is an avid fan of basketball and football, loves exploring new foods, and enjoys playing video games and watching TV. He is also a big fan of the Harry Potter universe and is a proud Hufflepuff. A couple of unique fun facts about Dr. Phan: he has never experienced a brain freeze, and he approaches life and medicine remembering the best piece of advice he ever received: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
