Dr. Johns is fantastic, he’s very open minded to different forms of treatment. He’s nonjudgmental and he’s been very supportive. Much better than my last psychiatrist and I’ve made huge progress and I’m happy now under his care.

Dr Johns has a very collaborative approach to Psychiatry. Having been treatment resistent for most all of my adult life, having additional cognitive issues, and physical impairments, my med list is complicated. He does not ever make unilateral decisions about my care. He wants my input. He offers options. He allows me my autonomy.
I have sometimes felt hopeless. However, after my appointments with Dr Johns, I see that he doesn't feel any of the defeat I do. It's encouraging. Unfortunately, that is not nearly true enough for many med providers.
In addition, necessary psych testing was hard to come by. He gave me a referral to a Psychologist outside of his clinic. They were collegues many years ago and both said of the other that each is the best there is at what they do.
One quick example: we had a med check appointment yesterday. He allowed me the space to "dump" a bit with my frustrations of all the M Health red tape that creates barriers to quality care. I really appreciated that
