Dedicated to his work in ketamine treatment and research, Dr. Johns performed a landmark study at the Minneapolis VA that helped define ketamine’s role in outpatient psychiatry. He went on to develop the region’s first ketamine clinic at North Memorial Health, directing over 1,800 treatments and leading one of the largest expansions of mental health services in the organization’s history. He also completed a fellowship in transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) at Duke University and has served as a consultant in the development of esketamine (Spravato) therapy.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Johns enjoys wildlife photography and exploring the outdoors through hiking, biking, skiing, and traveling with his family.
