Dr. Monson grew up in Casper, Wyoming. He moved to Utah to pursue his bachelor’s degree in physiology and developmental biology at Brigham Young University. Following his undergraduate studies, he completed his doctorate in podiatric medicine at Samuel Merritt University California School of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated the top of his class.
He continued with his surgical residency program at Raymond G. Murphy Veteran Affairs Medical Center in New Mexico. In his third year of residency, he received training through Kaiser Permanente Medical Center. During his time there, he was mentored by renowned physicians in foot and ankle reconstruction surgery as well as total ankle replacement.
Dr. Monson is fluent in Khmer (Cambodian), the official language of Cambodia. He is also a staff member at Mercy General Hospital, Sutter Roseville Medical Center, Mercy Hospital of Folsom, and Mercy San Juan Medical Center. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, traveling, and fishing.

Dr Monsen is a 5 but convincing his staff that I was in need to be seen and communicated with turned me into a stressed b___h. I could not get any help at all until I got angry. When you can’t wear anything but a sock on your foot that makes ugly come out and it did. It get resolved .
