Dr. Joshua Decker is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. A personal experience as a young adult gave Dr. Decker a new understanding of health care providers’ ability to provide pain control. He was drawn to the idea of receiving personal satisfaction from helping someone in need. It was this experience that drew him to pursue a career as a physician.
The field of podiatry became his passion as he observed his father, Dr. William Decker, in his podiatric practice. In the summer months of his podiatric training, he worked at a free health care clinic in Honduras. He trained in the podiatric department of Detroit Medical Center during his residency. There, he treated a wide range of orthopedic and podiatric conditions, including both adult and pediatric complex foot and ankle deformities and trauma.
Dr. Decker’s residency offered him Level 1 Trauma experience. He completed an AO Fellowship under Sigvard T. Hansen, M.D. Dr. Decker is board certified in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery and reconstructive foot surgery. He currently serves as chief of podiatry at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.

It made the process a lot easier when I had a doctor I felt safe around. I don't like getting shots and it wasn't pleasant but it was way better when I felt like I was talking to a real person. I will definitely come back if I have any more problems because of the great experience I had, that could have been a lot worse if not for my doctor.
He explained everything very clearly and laid out a reasonable plan.
I have 2 cuts and he trimmed side of nail way too far down. I told him I had trouble with ingrown toenails in the past. He surely didn’t listen. I hope I don’t have problems with this. I’ll be canceling my next appointment.
