Dr. Harrill received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, where he first met fellow Desert Foot and Ankle doctor, Scott N. Maling, DPM, FACFAS. After medical school, Dr. Harrill completed his residency at Botsford General Hospital at Michigan State University in Farmington Hills.
Dr. Harrill gained much of his expertise from his diverse medical experiences before coming to Desert Foot and Ankle. For example, after his residency, he worked as part of the Indian Health Service, with the Pima people, a Native American tribe with the highest incidence of diabetes in the world.
To stay sharp and informed, Dr. Harrill is a member of several podiatric societies, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, Arizona Podiatric Medical Association, American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Academy of Wound Management, and American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Harrill has spent over 10 years lecturing at universities, writing for medical journals, and training new doctors for both private practices and the Baja Project for Crippled Children.
Three times board certified himself in podiatric medicine, surgery of the foot, rear foot and ankle, and wound care, Dr. Harrill also works as a board examiner for the board certification process for the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.
