Dr. Gerst is a wonderful surgeon. I mostly appreciate

Dr. Gerst was not very friendly to me. The treatment plan offered for my problem was a brace, when I inquired if a brace was sufficient. He asked, well what would you like me to do??? Which I thought was rather rude. He did not provide information as to how long or often the brace should be worn. The MA who put it on had no idea. He also prescribed an ointment, he didn't mention it to me or provide any instruction. I received a call from the pharmacy indicating that a prescription was ready, turns out the "prescription" is also sold OTC. Because of this the cost was $65 not covered by insurance, however if I walked in to purchase over the counter, the cost is $15. I wasted my time waiting in the pharmacy line for a prescription that the doc did not tell me he prescribed or tell me I can get the same exact crap OTC for a fraction of the price. A lot of people like him, but I wouldn't go back.

Unfortunately, I waited too long and as a result was in pain when, I had my appt. Dr.Gerst was sympathetic but let me know after X-rays & consultation what exactly had to be done. While doing my procedure he would ask about my pain level and let me know, I was doing fine and he's almost done. His focus was intense. You knew that he knew what he was doing. Thank you

Dr Gerst is a very kind doctor. My 91 yr old dad see’s him once or twice a year, and he always enjoys his visit. Such a great podiatrist! Great bedside manner. Great staff. Always festive in the office. Can’t say enough about Dr Gerst!
