Dr. Bergsma grew up on the lakeshore of West Michigan as the son of a local physician. He was drawn to podiatry as a young athlete that experienced the benefit of podiatric treatment for sports related injuries. Upon completing his surgical residency in 2004, he returned to Michigan to join Foot and Ankle Specialists.
In addition to offering full podiatric services, Dr. Bergsma is often contacted to treat patients with sports injuries and provides preventative care for competitive athletes. He has also had the opportunity to join other Muskegon physicians and the University of Michigan to offer free medical and surgical treatment to a young boy from Lebanon.

Great Doctor. Was fortunate to have been helped by him. I had a problem with my foot and saw Dr Bergsma. He listened discussed very clearly what what problem was and then its treatment. I’m now good as new. If I knew how to dance I’d be doing that now!!

Dr. Bergsma is awesome. I never feel rushed. He explains in very layman terms. I love his caring but to the point instructions and explanations. I would highly recommend Dr. Bergsma!
