Dr. Bergsma grew up on the lakeshore of West Michigan as the son of a local physician. He was drawn to podiatry as a young athlete that experienced the benefit of podiatric treatment for sports related injuries. Upon completing his surgical residency in 2004, he returned to Michigan to join Foot and Ankle Specialists.
In addition to offering full podiatric services, Dr. Bergsma is often contacted to treat patients with sports injuries and provides preventative care for competitive athletes. He has also had the opportunity to join other Muskegon physicians and the University of Michigan to offer free medical and surgical treatment to a young boy from Lebanon.

Doc was Amazing!
He and Emma are very patient, listening and answering all questions and set me up knowing exactly what to expect and provided a good plan for post surgery and moving forward :)

Friendly office staff. On time service. Dr. Bergsma explained my procedure fully and answered my questions.

The foot wrap did take downtrend swelling in my foot and ankle. Sorry I couldn't make my next appointment. I'm presently in St. Mary's hospital awaiting the word to be sent to Mary Free Bed.

The office seemed quiet yet I waited long time for him to come in the room. I heard him speaking of his next patient and then his attitude when he came in like he didn’t want to be there only addressed 1 of 3 issues since it was seen on the X-ray. I felt not heard Not treated properly
