William Thomson completed his undergraduate studies at the Long Island University and subsequently graduated from the LIU/Brooklyn Hospital Physician Assistant program magna cum laude. He subsequently trained at The Beth Israel Medical center where he served full-time in Emergency Medicine and part-time in Orthopaedics.
In December of 2002, Mr. Thomson joined Garden State Orthopaedic Associates. Working with the practice surgeons has helped fine-tune his competence in Orthopaedics. On a daily basis, Mr. Thomson works hand in hand with all of the Surgeons as well as his fellow Physician Assistants to provide the highest level of care to his patients.
Mr. Thomson feels strongly that education is a very important part of his practice. He is directly involved with training second-year PA students from Cornell University and other PA programs. He is actively involved in The Valley Hospital PA shadowing program, which allows high school and college students to get involved early in observing PAs in a clinical setting. Mr. Thomson works diligently to guide students, who hope to pursue a future in medicine, in the right direction.

Today was a lovely wonderful visit. The staff was very nice, caring and the lady that took my stitches out was kind and gentle. Dr. Williams was so polite, kind , caring and friendly. He explained to be everything that was done with my knee. I’m very happy .

Physician Assistant Dr Thompson was an absolute gift to me last night and this morning. He helped me navigate my pain until I could see him this morning in the Mahwah office . I could barely get into my car let alone into the office and I left walking upright and pain free . He was so professional, he explained everything in a kind and thoughtful manner. I felt like I was so lucky to have him and his care . Truly blessed . GSOA you are so blessed to have him on your staff and I was so grateful and thankful to have him last night when I called after hours and this morning when I met him at the office . Simply the best ,Truly grateful for his excellent care .
